3D / NVIDIA GURU REPORTING IN.
Lol, yes. It's still a gimmick for another couple years to come.
My honest opinion is that it's a great thing. 3D makes you feel immersed quite a lot in games. Best thing about it, is that it can be turned on with just about every game out there old and new.
I can't use it for hours on end as it will bother my eyes a bit and/or glasses hurt a bit.
-but if you have a nvidia gpu, and an extra £250-300 lying around (lol) then go for it. Not to mention that the 120Hz refresh rate is nice and smooth, and will help in games. Sure TN panels aren't as vibrant as IPS, but the refresh rate creates a notable difference when viewing videos, or playing games (The same with IPS it's color being a noticeable difference).
@Dae
To set a movie or game into 3d mode, you will first need to buy a 120Hz capable TV/monitor. I would recommend a monitor, as half of the TV's out there have features that "emulate" 120Hz, but aren't actually capable. Every 120Hz monitor on the other hand actually produce 120Hz refresh rates. Most 3D monitors now come in 23.6" displays which provide 1920x1080. After you have a screen, you still need a nvidia 3D capable gpu, and the 3D vision kit.
This is my monitor, and I love it <3
