Worst SC2 game idea we are ever going to do, for shits and giggles

Resource Buddy

2 versus 2

One player can do everything (I could restrict this for extra laughs, but i wont because that would OVER complicate things)

The other player can ONLY mine. And for the sake of initial gameplay restriction, we make the resource gatherer a Terran.

He can build the following;

Command centre
Supply Depot
Refinery
Barracks*
Engineering Bay
Orbital command
Planetary defense

SCV
Mules

* - He cannot build Marines

The trick is to donate when necessary to your team mate, so that he has the resources to protect yourself and himself and fight for you.

Planetary defense will be your only defense, but it is costly.

It could work if we rethinked the approach of it.

Or adjusted the rules.

And it might not work against the computer

Nah far too awkward. Two players are a problem.

Rules far too silly. Best solution = the control ally units function. Move base at start into friendly base and use spare workers to scout/attack.

Can control build though?

I thought the other way would be to have a gameplay type where 2 players control one faction.

Pro's;

- One person can focus on resource gathering, the other on offense/defense.
- Both can form their own attack teams and enhance the strategies

Con's;

- "That SCV is mine"
- "Don't take all of my marauders"
- "Stop building drones when I'm trying to 6pool"

creating a custom game type is far too much effort for something that can be done without it

mind you same mentality for monobattles, and that had a mod made for it.

i think we should custom game 2v2/4v4/ffa (LOL) monobattle tonight!!!
