Finally got around to getting an actual controller for my copy of Dark Souls.
Got to say it's one of most frustrating but also the most rewarding experiences I've played in a long time. Has it's fair share of cheap deaths, of course, but none of this has stopped me from playing it.
Complacency is my biggest enemy.

Isn't Demon's Souls considered harder?

Only by clueless people. Demon's Souls does an extremely good way of cheesing people but that's where the only difficulty truly is. Enemy and trap placement looks awkward but due to limits such as pathfinding and AI there's no real trouble beyond your first experience. Dark Souls is consistently harder and less harder (ignoring initial lightning on release of DaS) to break with weapon upgrades.
edit: Demon's Souls does however excel better in areas like monster/boss art-style and some of the boss mechanics compared to Dark Souls, but anything from Prepare to Die Edition content outweigh the quality of both DeS and DaS.
Good shit Psy.

I almost hate how addictive this game is. It makes me frustrated like no tomorrow and you just can't help but want to keep playing. Aside from the few rage-quits (which happens if you're me) this game seriously brings out both the masochistic and the want to succeed in people.
I am looking forward to seeing how the second one holds up in comparison (particularly on PC, a platform they're developing the game for now).

Miyasaki is a genius, escape for the rushed development of Lost Izalith.

This game, this fucking game.
It has so much magic and mystery to it, and plays like a damn dream.
But it's also infuriating and challenging. AND I can't bitch at it, because it's always my fault dammit! So invested, but can't afford to be during exams.

I've heard of that horror but am not that far just yet. It didn't look particularly friendly pre-patch though, from what little I saw of it.

Only 21 days until mustards get it.
I've avoided a lot of news about Dark Souls 2, I'm really excited.

I know a bit about the new mechanics but that's about it. I actually resigned myself from the Dark Souls subreddit that I'm fairly active on just to avoid the spoilers.
Ideally I'll be getting my new graphics card just before the 25th, too.

You guys holding out for the PC version in the UK?
Currently on my 3rd play through on NG+ (PS3)
Invasions are getting pretty ridiculous in certain parts of the game...
All in all a more entertaining experience, and trust me you will die a lot!

It wouldn't be Dark Souls without infuriating deaths.
I've managed to convince around 3 of my mates to buy the game and I'm turning it into a bit of competition that I'll likely record (would love to stream it if my upload speed didn't suck).
4 people. Two have played and beaten Dark Souls and two have not.
I'm on the team who has played and finished the original at least once. Neither of us are "veterans" but the point is that we have a preconceived idea of how difficulty Dark Souls 2 should be and what to expect based on the first game, whereas the other two guys have only watched a few videos and have never really experienced it for themselves, leaving them susceptible to all the cock-eyed mistakes we all made when we first played.
It's a standard competition, as far as I'm concerned. Personally, I don't care for the competitive part as I just wanted to record four people raging on camera. The amusing part about the whole ordeal is that my mate and I aren't telling my other two mates how to summon or do co-op at all. We're trying to keep the experience as fresh as possible for them, which should hopefully instill as much hate as humanely possible between the teams.
Should be hilarious and cruel as fuck.

I would assume a few of you guys are following E3...
The spiritual successor to Demon Souls was announced, Bloodborne.
Plus a few other interesting showings.

Bloodborne looks like a mix between Van Helsing-style assets and the Souls games. Wouldn't buy a PS4 just for that alone but it's tempting.
