Prototype was also hyped

More like not agreeing with what James says

Seriously though, does this actually surprise you? The Sims 3 has sold around 2 million (Considering at launch it sold 1.3m I think that's a fair estimate). Console games regularly outdo this. The Sims 3 launched on June 4th or 5th, a week goes by (Sims 3 largely being sold out at this point) and Prototype is released. The charts are redrawn and The Sims 3 obviously wouldn't be on the top anymore since an A++ multiplatform title got released. Also, the Sims 3 couldn't have been hyped for two years since it'd only been actually announced around March 2008.

But there are still rumours and word of mouth. The Sims was due for another sequel and it brings large demand.

Of course Prototype was hyped but not as much as The Sims 3 at E3 or during last year. There was a SIX MONTH GAP between footage leaks.

It doesn't sound like too bad of a game, so I wouldn't mind trying it at some point.

Wooden Character + Hoodie = Altair
Incorrect

Wooden Character (Garrett + White + Hardcore² - Subtlety) + Hood = Altair
Correct!

I don't care who I play so long as I can fucking kill people who annoy me.

Random people on Assassin's Creed? FUCKING DIE.
Random people on Prototype? FUCKING DIE.
Random people on other FPS/RPG games I own? FUCKING DIE.

I'm not biased. I just like to kill things.

I did that all the time in Morrowind. Then the pricks removed the ability to do it in Oblivion.

I vented my rage on the closest people I saw. Which were guards and random beggers. GOOD FUN!

Oh yeah, was gonna say they only went unconscious there aswell but you got some weird message saying you fucked up the plot and should start an earlier save or something, right?

On Morrowind (and probably Arena and Daggerfall too) yes, you got that message. I also think the sky turned all black and gray and shit as a sign that you fucked up lol.

I made multiple saves of me just killing EVERYONE, for fun. Did the same thing on GTA and Deus Ex. And will probably end up doing the same thing on Far Cry 2 at some point.

Hell, I even did it on games like Battlefield 1942 and Star Wars Battlefront. My mate and I would just go on opposite teams, help each other out but kill our own team.

I'd recommend just downloading it before actually buying it, there's quite a lot of people (Including me) who can't play the game properly as it is. Would be a shame to waste money on a game that might not even run properly.

It's not a game I'd pay for personally. It's fun but it's far too repetitive, no replay value. Storyline is weak and familiar.

It's fun to kill shit and glide around the city when bored, but I could never do the storyline missions more than once. It's just the same thing over and over again.

I've replayed it on hard mode and I'm 65% through the storyline again with a lot more abilities than I had at normal mode completion. I'm also earning a lot of gold events! The storyline missions are all unique, it's not really the same thing over and over and you know it! (unlike gta4 hurrr murder you SMASH the army's/infected new ways to fuck you up or meet new units that'll fuck you up in freeroam) You've got 5 army units, 1 police man, 3 types of tank, 3 types of helicopter, 3 types of infected humans, 2 types of hunters, 1 hydra so that means the combat has everlasting hack and slash variety especially when they fight eachother and YOU!

I only haven't played it again because it's so repetitive. It's fun to play when I wanna beat the shit out of people but it just reminds of GTA. Same shit, different day.

You're still beating up random soldiers, killing infected bastards, blowing up tanks and wiping helicopters off the face of the map. The events do add a little bit of a twist but they too get repetitive.

Too many games these days have hardly any replayability.

That being said I've clocked up well over 200 hours worth of Fallout 3.

I did enjoy, no strike that, love Prototype but I get where you're coming from on that one. Its all just carnage, destruction and mindless violence which is great fun when you're in that sort of mood. Just doesn't happen often when I find a game that I go back to anymore (Fallout 3 the only real exception)
