No but seriously. Games are getting more graphically demanding, and engines are requiring more raw shading power.
Of course, the laptops are just for basic purposes, i.e. not actually testing the game itself. But basic purposes themselves have elevated to the point where a workstation laptop is much more easier to work with than a standard one.
