Its technically already classed as one. You can go into rehab for any addiction.

I think that anyone who takes video games seriously and actually thinks they're real should be in a mental institute. People who get worked up over a bunch of carefully placed pixels and fucked in the head and need help.

They want to ban games all together because people supposedly would murder thinking it is right because they saw it in a game

So something as ridiculous as religion, in which people will follow anything, because its a direct method of exploiting human ignorance, is fine, but simulated video games have parents and politicians on the fence trying to get them banned.

This is what the world has become.

People who play WoW are the kind of people that are addicted to video games. I know people who skip school to play it.

Games like ManHunt were banned because kids played it and decided to en-act the game, killing people. I don't believe they cause problems for "Normal" people, because I play enough of them, and Iv'e never tried to re-enact them.

Its entirely possible to be addicted to gaming.

If it affects your health (ie, lack of sleep, lack of fluids, lack of food, social life is affected, you skip work or school just to play games), you have a problem.

This is what annoys me. People think games cause everything, but they cause nothing. Football games dont make a great footballer. First person shooters dont make gun experts Driving games dont make f1 or Rally champions so how does Manhunt make lethal killers?

Forza 2 makes Rally champions, look at Dale!

I dont think thats what they class as the most obvious case of addiction. Im not afraid to admit I was quite addicted to DXMP for quite a while. That doesnt even remotely mean that I tried jumping off high buildings or use medbind on streets..

I guess that cautions the younger people to keep clear from the puter box more often, unless they want their parents to put them in a mental institute.

I personally believe a person could become addicted to nearly anything.. and half the cases perhaps are not widely regarded as addiction..
