Red Faction: Source needs YOU!

I am here on behalf of a new HL2 mod, Red Faction: Source. We aim to bring the classic Geo-Mod shooter Red Faction back into the spotlight.

Our team is just coming together, right now we only have 4 members. We need YOU!

According to the mod leader Trezza, we need the following positions filled:

Texture Artist

texture artist.. one of the easier jobs, if you are good at making textures for maps e.g rock, stone, metal or can make textures for guns, then we could use your help with red faction: source, pm me, email or post on the forums (link is on my site) to join the team.

Player Modeler

player modeler. one of the most important parts of a mod. there was a couple of player models in red faction and i need a couple of player modelers so help would be nice... thx

GFX artist

If you can remember the layouts of multi-player maps in red faction, and the shape of the weapons well and you can draw then please help me out if i can get a team we will need help with concept drawings for the the game, so p.m or email me (traymayne@hotmail.com)

Weapon Animator

A weapon animator would come in handy so if u got the skills pm (trezza) or email (traymayne@hotmail.com) me to get ur part in this hopefully good mod (red faction source)

Mapper

I need at least three mappers to help out with red faction: source as thee is a total of 23 maps that need to be in this mod, mappers dont need to be extremely good at mapping as most maps are fairly simple

Coder

I'll suggest for you to disband if you're not professional, Red Fraction was made by a professional workers, most mods that get released such as GE: Source and Black Mesa = made by professionals.

A group of teenagers would lose concentration, have a lack of experience, knowledge, motivation, endurence and simply...quit after a few months of producing crap.

Oh, well you're right. I guess I should disband from the project and leave it to some gaming company that comes along. Your opinion makes sense.

Of course, about 55% of this little thing may disagree.

Not true, a fellow weapon modeler modeling for a CS:S mod (forget which) is 12. And yeh, he does have major experience.

Theres a difference between a CS:S mod, and a source game. From what I can see he wants to redesign a 5-6 year old game and recreate its psychics in a updated engine, this needs ALOT of work especially with the GeoMod effects being coded into the source engine itself. There is also no point in building this mod because RED FACTION 3 is being released next year (just to get his attention).

This kind of work is for hobby material, MMCity isn't a complete converstion of the game using its engine.

A completely different source game

Seems like Zombie mod for CS:S makes that happen. Trust me when I say it looks like an entirely different game altogether, like Dawn of the Dead: Source.

Mainman didn't manage anything or anyone, except himself.


He managed me, when I made weapons for him.

Yup you quoted something that was meant to correct someone else.
This is youth age discrimination, until you can prove to me that someone in their early teens worked on a long term basis on Goldeneye Source, Red Orcastra, Black Mesa, U2XMP, Dystopia, Natural Selection... my name will be blubbering faggot for a week.
