Basically, 6 of us are having a long long tournament to see who is the better at life, at Civ4 including both of its expansions.
We have decided to make this last for a while by playing by 'email', except all files will be sent to me.

If anyone drops out we will be letting people join by replacements.

Right you start off with normally 2 units, normally a warrior/scout and a settler

The first thing to do is look to see if there s any villages on your map on your first turn, these villages are also known as "prize huts", as they give a random gift.

To move to it, highlight the warrior/scout and you'll see a number, this is how many turns it'll take to reach your destination

Now lets explain the settler, settlers basically are the most important unit in the game, to expand your kingdom by creating a city from scratch, but first we must find the perfect place.

Looks like we found a perfect place to start the city, normally it highlights itself showing you the best places it starts off, but normally a piece of 2 food is the best area.

the blue area signifies what will be the first boarders of the city, do not worry as this will expand
So plan carefully!

Your next objective is to quickly make a worker, to improve your land
If you started with a warrior, move him to your city right away, if you got a scout keep him scouting

On your next turn you'd see technology, if you haven't already learnt Animal Pasture, learn it NOW, if no sign of it learn Hunting, if you can't see that also learn Archery.

Ah yes, you have constructed your first worker, pat yourself on the back and make a barrack straight away, notice your village has started to change its number from 1 to 2 by now, that means it is growing

Now, highlight your worker and use the automatic improvement feature.

Congratulations, your worker made a farm for you to slaughter your pig, giving it a amazing boost making your city bloom quickly.

Once you have learnt archery, learn bronze working, by now you should have your first real protecting unit the archer, and when you learn bronze working find bronze on a hill and mine it, then the real game will begin, starting with your classical army.
