That happens, It does it about every 3 months for me.

I think it reaches a limit then clears the cache?

Did you close firefox after this? If so, try shutting down the process

Lol I dunno, did it to me once too. I just use IE now, seems to work good on Vista.

It does it too me all the fucking time, so I can't be bothered remaking them, they only get deleted again. It's a error with your Profile. Happens a lot.
