Baldur's Gate really helped me vote :], and the only Japanese RPG's I really liked were the FF games anyway.

Western, because of KOTOR, System Shock, and of course! Deus Ex.

Yeah Japanese doesn't have much of a well known line up for me, only FF and Pokemon stand out. Western for me too.

Chrono Trigger is the best RPG of all time in my book. Yes, it beats FF7.

Silly to compare, they offer different things. Shouldn't Oblivion be on there somewhere? You got MorroWind.

FinalFantasy is about it from jRPG, but I prefer that to every game listed in "wRPG"

Dragon quest is huge in Japan. The word for the healing potion was put into the dictionary.

I've heard of all the Japanese ones, but only Deus Ex from the West.

I prefer wRPGs but some jRPGs are pretty sweet. Such as the FF series, lol. Though I prefer wRPGs for The Forgotten Realms series.

Oblivion is nothing on Morrowind or Daggerfall.
Of course they offer different things, infact a wRPG gives you a story you don't have to follow, and you can actually roleplay. You can say a jRPG is something you have no real control of, you play it just to see the story unfold and it has annoying interludes aka grinding levels/random battle encounters. I'd rather read a book.

Most jRPG's don't even offer true RPG elements, go figure.

Chrono Trigger <s>is the best RPG of all time in my book</s>. Yes, it beats FF7.

I agree completely, but I'd say FF6 or Tactics is a lot better than CT.

Yeah, that's true. It's like fucking Pokemon LOL. How the fuck is that an RPG? All you choose is what fucking Pokemon you catch and what items you use. OOH WOW!!! [/sarcasm]

Hence, why I like wRPGs better. Morrowind I like, I also like Oblivion. Especially for Oblivions huge skills system and it's bonuses for getting to a certain level in one skill. Morrowind doesn't have that. Btw, is Daggerfall any good? Arena SUCKS ASS. LOL.

Also wouldn't mind playing PlaneScape Torment which is on that wRPG list...

Still, you are comparing about games by where they are made lol. How about you just play them. Instead of dividing them into categories.

True, but what if you have played them?

Because they're very different, and people have tastes for each, I don't see why this is a problem Danny.
Deus Ex is nothing like Final Fantasy.
Ultima isn't like Paper Mario
Xenogears is nothing like Fallout.

I frolic through the meadows and trudge through the mountains with my dog companion on Oblivion. That game literally offers no bounds to what you can do, get the right skins and mod and you can be a damn prostitute.

American Cartoons > Anime
wRPGs > jRPGs

PROVE ME WRONG.

I prefer anime over cartoons, not stupid anime though with the exceptions of super robot anime.

I prefer Japanese anime over the US' shitty excuse for it.

What does The Boondocks count as.

Because if it is what I think it is (American Anime) I like that better than all Japanese Anime put together. Tried watching Ghost in the Shell yesterday.

Wasn't amused.
