iPod broke so I don't trust it anymore. I need something under $100 and without additional parts (such as, specific charger, specific USB cord to put music in etc.) Video and photo options are also a plus. Space doesn't matter, I plan on holding only a few songs for on-the-go.

Any recommendations?
(currently checking out the Creative ZEN V Plus right now)

I'll think about it; looks better than most Zune or iPods out there (rivals Creative.)

I know you don't want Apple or anything, but the shuffle. Small, easy, cheap and reliable. Cheap as in 49 bucks cheap.
Or if you want a screen, I'd go with the iRiver.

=[, Please don't hate me for my post.

i got few years old ipod, works like a charm even though the battery aint as good as it used to be. it depends how you keep it, my sis fucked hers up pretty proper in less time.

all in all i guess zen is cheaper way to go, colleague been recommending me that as well, but they all seem to bear some kind of hate against ipods :D

id probably buy zen if this one broke. way cheaper

Interesting, worth a try.

Does it record voice, have an alarm clock and a timer as well as an FM radio?
Those are some of the things I might have a use for.

IF you want alarm clock, you'll want speakers. Try the YP-K5.
