I knew that when you have 2 GFX cards in an Sli setup, the greater of the two slows its core and mem speeds to meet the spec of the lesser one.

I've been warned that my SLi motherboard only supports card of the same chipset and manufacturer - Can anyone talk from experience of having an SLi setup to reassure me, or at least slap me around the face for a lack of research?

I thought that's how SLI works anyway.

According to Nvidia, you can have any combination of SLi able cards, regardless of chipset :?

I was aware that Crossfire is the only one that allows that kind of thing.

Unless it's new for SLi in which case your mobo will be too old.
