I found Mass Effect 1 on the PC an enjoyable experience with my fps never dropping below 50. Perhaps I am the exception to the rule

Ive no idea what my fps was in the game but it seemed smooth enough.

On my current play through it looks like it got fixed. It looks like lava!

I remember trying to get through that level and kept on wondering what kept on bringing up "Critical Mission Failure". Decided to stick to the sides and alot of trial and error.
