The ratings can kiss my ass. I like the game and I think its pretty good. Critics thought the Matrix movie series would be bad but guess what......

News just in, the last Matrix movie was terrible.

Enjoy your EA GoW clone.

Gears of War is superior

Don't like the idea of Active Aggro.
Passive Aggro is good and conducive to gameplay, because you are never entirely sure who is drawing the most fire, making you think more about your actions. When I'm glowing bright bloody red it's too obvious to the player that I am the centre of attention. It's a gameplay feature that could have been nice, subtle and possibly not even mentioned but still added, but EA needed a USP so they capitalised on a feature all co-op shooters, and even non co-op shooters (COD4 even has it, whoever your with can draw fire away from you) have, and call it original.

Then they made some tacky design decisions, and turned up the surrealism meter.

Still, getting decent enough reviews. Nothing in the region you're trolling on about...

It is called money and gifts for the scores, which interests the bigger reviewing and gaming circles more. You should know by now EA have super scores for very subpar games, I wonder why?, not. I have been following this game and stopped when I got the demo, why?, soulless junk, in some eyes it must be decent, but anything beyond that really confuses me.

For a game like this to deserve so many 7s, it seems that EA (once again) used a couple of thousand dollars and evened them out to each major review site which could of easily came out of the game's left over marketing budgets which will come back anyhoo with all the people buying into the GoW-esque hype.

Troll?, no. Not at all. This happens with everything gaming. However a certain review from a (at the moment) independent gaming circle home to a few credible freelance writers but houses a terrible, terrible community made me laugh.

I'm not even going to answer that post correctly, why are so many games in development using the "buddy" co-op action hero style concept since the end of 2006.

lol

Sorry man, but honestly, the game is decent and you are bashing it for what? Looking like GoW?

Like it or not, EA are not smug bastards that want to control the gaming world. They are people who work very hard for their products, and I don't think they'll be bothered by someone telling them their game should be vetoed because "looks like GoW!"

The gameplay for AoT has been designed so that you RELY on your teammate, even if he happens to be an AI. In GoW, all Dom was good for was getting killed. Perhaps I may be biased as I've never played co-op on GoW but it is two different dependent AI techniques.

And opinions vary on what people find amazing stuff. You have your Gurren Lagann, I have my Heckler and Koch. The world keeps on spinning.

I've never played the game, nor seen anything but the cover.

Still, 2/10.

Have you heard of that old saying that goes "don't judge a book by its cover?" ;)

Meh, one review on one independant internet site is not going to put me off the game. The reliable sources like Gamespot and the like have said it's decent, not amazing...but decent. I usually give a rent first for just decent games to see how they fair, I'll give this one a rent.

Yahtzee will destroy it though, no doubt.

There was nothing very action hero and two men throwing insults back and forth at eachother/jesting about the situation even if they're deep in shit.

Theres something wrong with this, you only have to rely on your team mate for a few moments in the game, for instance back to back bullet time and zaney crazy sequences.

I'm bashing it because it is one of the money tie ins doing the exact same things to steal Gears of War's piece of success, this is absolute truth. They took it and made tried to make a pretty nice idea they came up with their selves, and that didn't turn out very good. FOR INSTANCE, Codemasters is doing the exact same thing with some stupid Neo-Wild Western TPS where you and your wife or something go to the local saloon to hear news that the combine from Half Life 2 who are now British wearing bowler hats are fucking up Kentucky.

wat

I'd like to remind you, who got fired from his job he had been years because he honestly reviewed a game, which also was decent. Credible?, no, not at all.

Also, Yahtzee isn't exactly a reviewer, he is a critic.

Have any of you, played the game here apart from Kyle?

Nope, haven't played it.

But I'm not willing to shoot it down without playing the finished product, I'll rent. It can't be worse than NFS Pro Street now can it?

Jeff Gerstmann over Kane and Lynch getting a rubbish score, he got fired, 5 people left after him too. Try the demo, not the rent.

The guy who got fired writing a review for Kane & Lynch, an honest one, and he got fired cus teh G$ was using K&L positive adverts on their site.

Right... ?

Well, other companies have, but its pretty apparent that they're big with IGN to be seduced by a Publishers gift of $250-$1000 depending on what score they want from 7-9.
