Deus Ex Alpha

Just watched some new media on GT. It looks almost identical to the previous release; just with a few more gimmicky mechanics including (but not limited to): Throwing people, strapping Satchel Packs to NPC's, taunt choices and the uncanning ability to have two X chromosomes.

Recently THQ had a Gamers Day to try and pull in some GTA fans. An interview took place and in the interview the damn developer had the arrogance not to mention it being inspired or like GTA. "Saints Row is an open-world game where you can do what you want, when you want" and a nice selection of bullshittery like "We are the head of single Co-Op availability" and "This is definitely going to impact the sales of GTA IV".

And for the icing on the marzipan (uck!) they hired the one and only Gary Busey (with new bleached teeth!) to put some twisted childish humour to them. Although slightly humourous, it is slightly agitating.

Note: When they announced Saints Row 2, they also announced Red Faction 3. Red Faction 3 wins.

It will be a satisfying experience. However, with already two 10/10 ratings for GTA IV (just got OXM), Saints Row is only to be compared with it. With that in mind the audience will feel ripped-off after receiving an alledged "holy experience" with GTA. The most recent game has raised the bar for all next gen perspectives; especially in depth and atmosphere.

Also, the Statue of Happiness is holding a coffee cup!
