I'll tell you this right now:
Game certainly is very creepy. It's like the Pagan land in Thief 2, atmosphere and all.
Taking the I-Dose "Heroin" just before playing also doesn't make it any better.
So I heard about this Uboa and how to get him to appear; it's pretty simple, lightswitches, killing, etc.
I carried out on this, went back and forth with the light switches until it got redundant. Just when I was about to give up, I tried it once more and yeah, ghostly image appears, scary music, room is changed.
I can admit it made me jump, but honestly, it's not THAT scary. It's an anticipation game, do the same thing over and over again and BOOM something random appears. It scares you when you're rested, bored, and ready to try something new. Scare tactic that I've learned to deal with from Thief 2:
I wrote:On a mission called Life of the Party where you have to travel utilizing the rooftops, you'll come across a spire of sorts. Necromancer's Spire, it will be called, on your map.
Now you'll enter the place to find it pretty fucking boring. You'll expect zombies and shit, but not really, just some loot for you to steal and some papyrus to read. You'll look around, be bored, even douse the fire in the main window.
You figure well this is shit boring, then you find a book. You read it and go "lol what? this was useless im gonna go back to Angelwatch" then when you close the book FUCKING ZOMBIES APPEAR
So yeah, Uboa was a little bit scary but not as much as Tree Beast or other things I've seen playing Thief 2. I'm not brave or anything, just I thought the event was going to be fucking scary as brickshitting fuck, but I was a bit let down.
But anyways, this game is pretty cool and creepy. Ever seen any of David Lynch's works? It kind of reminds me of his videos, with overall creepiness but very ethereal. I like games where you wander around, and this game is no exception.
