Team Fortress 2

Badwater Basin is a Payload map focusing on more open spaces and less chokepoints than Gold Rush. (A) Right out of the gate is a multi-level area where the Blu team needs to control the high ground while moving the cart through a tunnel below. This open area has few natural choke points, allowing Scouts, Soldiers, and Demomen to move creatively through the space, forcing the Red team to rapidly respond to choices made by Blu. (B) As the track winds its way into tighter spaces, vertical control becomes more important. Each successive checkpoint requires the Blu team to take control of defensive positions above the track, usually occupied by Red Engineers. (C) Eventually the track winds down and a large basin which the Blu team must assault from all sides in a final push to destroy the Red base.

Unlike Gold Rush, where the track is split into three separate stages, Badwater Basin uses a single large stage with several checkpoints. As a result, the Blu team is highly encouraged to push the cart hard after beating their way through the Red defensive line.

I love those classes too, but lately I've discovered I play a good defensive Scout best. You may be thinking "But James, the Scout is weak and speed doesn't really come into play in defense!", this only helps put me into a unique mindset. In short; use the scout as an assist class and don't take people head on, retreat all the time you're about to die and let your team mates kill the weakened troop/s.

This mindset is basically what keeps me going for (at the moment my record as Scout) 9:1 k/d, which is pretty impressive you must think for the little guy. This works well for maps where you can defend without too much chokepoints such as Dustbowl, Gravelpit, Broma, Steel. I either do one of the two things, bounce around the entrances leading to the what I'm actually defending or going ahead of my team's forces pushing the offensive team back. When you eventually see the enemy, depending on the quantity I have a priority to kill first: Medic, Spy, Engineer, Demoman, Heavy, Sniper, Scout, Solider, Pyro. If I kill any of the first 4 they can bring their team in a temporary standstill and ruin their offensive. When I actually engage into these I give it 5-10 seconds for me to kill the most important class in my eyes and retreat backwards so they hopefully follow or look at me while I hope that my team have reached up to me to slaughter them. Also when they try to cap points I just hop onto the point, and hop out repeat.

I think each and all classes are unique and have different advantages and disadvantages. I rather like the Scout, running away from danger and shit lol.

I also have a request: Delete the OP and rename topic title? Not only will it make it look more TF2-like but also, the first topic sucks shit and I hate it.

Soldier is my favourite class.

I notice I am exceedingly good at Juggling, and often can hit people in the face with rockets instead of splash damagan

Yeah, one thing I couldn't do on Soldier was rocket jump. I've never really need it, tbh, but I would like to find out how the fuck to do it. And I forgot my other fave class, Medic. Actually, I spend most of my time being Medic. Even though I don't do any killing I find that most people don't play as Medics which is really retarded because they call for medics all the time.

Rocket Jump

Run forward
Aim down
Shoot then jump
or
Jump then shoot

If you want extra height,
Run forward
Aim down, shoot then crouchjump

Gotta love the names for this set of Achievements, lol. But Rasputin, goddamn lol. Very VERY possible though. I doubt it'd be that hard getting the attacks inflicted upon you, it's just healing from them.

And from personal experience and watching, there are A LOT of stupid fucking Medics out there.

Especially when all I've seen is "Level 5" and "Level 10" weapons. I highly doubt they'll make in-between weapons (to fill in the gaps of the missing levels). Seems rather pointless, to me as well.

"Hey, Doug, Gabe, lets have a chat about Team Fortress 2 content"
"Sure Developer, lets talk."
"Okay, here are the first two packs we've been working on, and the interface, what do you think?"
"It's short, buttons aren't hidden, and it's not bogged down with crap, good job."
"Eh, I have a question, why are there levels on the weapons?"
"Oh, no reason. We just decided to put them there not in any chronological-numerical order because that makes us edgy and hip"
"GENIUS, PROMOTION"

Can you really see them doing something that dumb

Obviously not, that's why I highly doubt they'll do it. But somehow, I'm starting to not put it past them. Why? Because they made this whole random leveling system in the first place, even with no order to it it's still there.

They never told anyone the point in it. So yeah, I find that pretty dumb.

Valve doesn't have to explain anything to you.

But I figured you could put 2 and 2 together.

Or do some research.

Protip: Not every weapon will have a different model.

Nope, there isn't any point to the leveling system. Their sence of humour is just fucking wacked. It doesn't really matter though, because most people will just look past it.
