@ Chloe

You no longer need to seeing as how Valve is recently bent on getting EVERYONE on steam. This is probably their "fuck you, good luck with whorigin" to EA.

I do remember this as well. I bought a friend of mine HL2:DM for his birthday so he could play that game, and use steam to it's full extent by adding friends and what not.

Valve has sort of shat on the faces of the original fanbase (us), but has done so in a way that no one really minds.

[I should give away my Hexman11 account from like 2005 eventually.

has HL2, HL2:DM, HL2:ep1 on it lol. I have no use for it, and valve wouldn't transfer my games to my new account because they are valve]

I quite likes it.

I'm upping a server. I don't know what the best gametypes, maps or settings etc are, and I don't know where to go for advice. Is there a community for TF2 which has n00b guides and ideas on what to include?

Server is Dedicated running on Core i7 3.06Ghz, 6Gb RAM (additional, albeit redundant, 8Gb via readyboost), 1mb upload speed.

10 slot for now, due to me not knowing how much bandwidth TF2 uses.

For now I'm gonna host original maps only but need to know what admin mods, security stuff etc is out there.

Shin.
PS: Server will be up as of tomorrow, hopefully it'll become 24/7 if people start playing.

Lol, google chrome gave me a malware warning when going in this topic.

I completely agree, Valve killed a perfectly good game. Vanilla TF2 da best. Now I'm getting instakilled by lazerz and shit all the way across the map and then slowed down, stunned, etc. because of random as fuck unbalanced weapons that were thought of, and implemented in less than a day.

TF2 Co-op would be interesting.

Pity it won't make the actual game any better, though.

Does it really matter when it's co-op? You don't fight against other players, so only your weapons would be unbalanced, which could possibly be fixed by increasing the difficulty of the bots.

EDIT: I think you actually start with default weapons in co-op, earn money by killing machines/bots, and then you're able to upgrade.

Class balance in a PvM type game generally involves balancing them towards each other. Either way, I don't have as much problem with a lack of balance in co-op as I do in multiplayer deathmatch environments.

Co-op still sounds extremely fun for me anyway, largely because I love co-op in games.

Mann vs Machine works properly on the server. James and I experienced though, that it's quite difficult to handle them when you're with 2.

Trying to get the game again so I can try out MvM.

Even if the game is unbalanced as hell I probably won't mind too much. I never took TF2 that seriously anyway, which is partly why I enjoyed it for so long.

That's why I still can't play it. Not only that; but I'm not comfortable with all the new weapons added every week.

It's enough already with kids running around using laser desintigrators, and things like that. I don't know what to expect in a match any more, and it really just makes the game less appealing.

That's actually my biggest issue with the game: the huge amounts of weapons. It's also the same reason I believe the game is unbalanced and unless these huge amounts of shit get removed it's never going to get better.

The only way it's really good is if you were to join servers who ban the usage of these but that's unlikely to ever happen.

I love TF2. I'd start up another server had I the money to do so, personally.
