Just downloaded. Very simplistic, easy and quick as shit.

This is definitely my choice for quick browsing.

Never heard of it, might try it. It's kind of annoying how Google keep coming up with this random shit though. Not because it's pointless but because look at every other project that have that is still in "BETA". DO THEY EVEN RELEASE IT FULLY?

Instead, they make a new project while the "beta" one works fine but they never change the beta's name or anything. It's like a project that would never see the light of day because it's always stuck with a crappy beta tag.

As for Google Chrome... gunna try it now, but meh. It doesn't look that bad, looks like it has all the essentials that I, personally, would need. I wonder though, does it use it's own source or is it just an outlet for IE/FF?

It's completely open source and borrows some of the GUI from Firefox so I would assume so.

Actually, in hind sight, I don't see 3X the speed of Firefox 3.0.

Someone needs to add this link to the OP, for convenience lol.
http://www.google.com/chrome/index.html ... e%20chrome

Anyways forgot to download and try it. So now I will lol. To be honest though, if it's slower than IE then I would never use it. Firefox 3 is still fucking slow/glitchy in it's own right. It's (FF3) buggy as hell.

EDIT: Posting this from Chrome, it's not bad so far. It's got some nice features. Like the ability to resize this post box for instance (in full reply). Pretty cool, IMO. Absolutely useless for this situation though, lol.

It's also odd not having a large toolbar at the top...

EDIT2: <s>Bah, not having a bookmarks toolbar is fucking annoying. In fact, how the hell do you open your bookmarks in the first place?!</s> Okay, forget that, just as I typed it out I found it lol.

EDIT3: Woah it scrolls fast, lol. That and some of the pages it fucks up, especially with WYSIWYG editors (like what Hotmail uses). Fucken annoying.

Chrome is fast and has an quite innovative interface. It was worth seeing but I'm staying with Firefox.

Google is willing to gain a segment of not more than a few percents. I don't think they seriously intend to compete with Firefox and Internet Explorer. It can be proven by the fact that they didn't break the partnership with Mozilla Foundation.

They didn't introduce any revolutionary features except for the new Javascript compiler, which accordingly to what I've read, is much faster than any existing ones. All Google apps including Analytics, Gmail, Docs, Picasa Web are working on heavy Javascript scripts, and while making them I guess Google reached a certain limit of capabilities of the old compilers.

I doubt Chrome will support plugins -- this is the essential advantage of Firefox. I doubt they will keep scrupulously add features either. The idea behind Chrome is to spread Google's new Javascript compiler, so Google Apps could work better and faster on the other browsers.

I like Google Chrome but it's far too buggy and lacks a lot of features Firefox has. So I entirely agree with what you just said, Dae.

Why would you want your browser tabs above the URL bar!? Maybe you can change it, that's all I've seen from the screenshots though.

Yesterday, I decided to move from Firefox to Chrome, after I found out Chrome now also has Adblocker and some other extensions I really need (Webdeveloper addon, etc). Firefox is just too slow for me at times, especially since I don't close it throughout the day, and Firefox is still eating memory.

Today, I found out I cannot disable history tracking. Sure, I can delete it, but I can't disable it by default!
There's a way to start Chrome in incognito by default (by changing the shortcut) but that would mean it doesn't store cookies either... which I do want.

Currently posting this with Firefox. Not happy :(

Have you tried memoryfox to make sure it dumps periodically? (also supports Mozilla engine applications like Tweetdeck, Songbird etc)

Firefox is so badly built these days.

Apparently it's not reviewed by Mozilla yet, so you can't find it if you search within their system. Using Google I could find it on Mozilla's site. That's quite stupid.
