I'm totally stoked for this game. And they will be giving out Beta tokens for a limited time also!

Discuss.

I'm actually getting sick of these sequels. I want a NEW game, not a fucken sequel/spin-off of a previous ones. There are so many sequels that have came out or are coming out. Have the writers just got some major writers block or are they really the developers/publishers really that retarded?

I like Sequels.

New content is fine, sure, but if something isn't broke, do not fix it

The reason I don't like sequels is because many I've played just sucked in comparison to the original. Deus Ex: Invisible War was one of those.

To me, things can change A LOT between the release and success of the first game and then the creation of the 2nd game. If a writer leaves, or a gameplay designer starts working on another project then to me, just don't try to mess with the game (especially if the people who write the story and create the gameplay of the original good game are not available).

This isn't to say all sequels are bad, it's just a lot of them are. Too many. That and I'm sick of seeing <RANDOM> 2 or <RANDOM> 3!!!! COMING OUT IN STORES NEAR YOU!

All it tells me is that the developers/publishers were too cheap and too lazy to come up with a new storyline for a completely different game. So, instead, they took the base of a previous game, redone the storyline a little bit (if it has one) and wacked a sticker on it and marked it a "sequel".

Shiny wrappers, lots of colouring, awesome graphics and good marketing - THESE DO NOT MAKE A GAME. If you're apart of the group that thinks "Good Graphics = Good Game" then you can go fuck your sister up the ass and rip out your eyes with a fucking Scythe. And, if you're still living after the whole eye thing (which I would assume a lot would be, just in immense pain) you can then go ram a fucking knife through your skull.

Too graphic? My apologies, but I really hate fucktards who think a game is composed entirely of good, awesome-looking graphics and even though the gameplay and storyline are as dull as a block of wood, they still think it's the best game in the damn world.

Well it just so happens that I like games that you think are shitty. You don't see me telling you things like this when you talk about a game that I don't like. :? Never cared much for call of duty 3 by the way.

Bah, let 'em spend it! Not our problem if they waste money making shitty games.

If people have to learn the hard way, so be it, learn the hard way. And, if I'm wrong, then so be it, I'm wrong.

Generalisan gaems

The 2nd game in a series is NOT SUPPOSED to be the same game as the first. People should stop expecting their favourite game to be EXACTLY THE SAME as the first just changed a little.

This isn't to say all sequels are bad, it's just a lot of them are. Too many. That and I'm sick of seeing <RANDOM> 2 or <RANDOM> 3!!!! COMING OUT IN STORES NEAR YOU!

You don't HAVE to buy it
You don't HAVE to watch the ads
You don't HAVE to care

All it tells me is that the developers/publishers were too cheap and too lazy to come up with a new storyline for a completely different game. So, instead, they took the base of a previous game, redone the storyline a little bit (if it has one) and wacked a sticker on it and marked it a "sequel".

Then don't play the sequel

I never said that the sequel should be exactly like the previous game. In fact, I prefer variety (so long as it's not named a sequel just because a handful of characters and features are in the new game, and that's it, to me, that's pointless).

However, I don't see the point in a sequel if nothing is changed and if certain aspects of the previous game are not kept (not just game characters but plot elements too). As it stands, sequel means:

1. a literary work, movie, etc., that is complete in itself but continues the narrative of a preceding work.
2. an event or circumstance following something; subsequent course of affairs.
3. a result, consequence, or inference.

In all 3 meanings, a sequel would carry on from the previous game. Therefore, if no plot elements of the previous game are event mentioned in the sequel, then it shouldn't be considered as a sequel and therefore, not classed as a sequel to the game (like GAME NAME 2, or whatever).

Having similar items/weapons, and having previous characters in a sequel, to me, do not make a sequel. To me, a sequel is where you incorporate previous plot elements of a game, into the new one (as stated above). Or where certain gameplay aspects are also carried over.

For example: The GTA games don't really have anything to do with each. From the one to the other, their storylines are all unique. But their gameplay is fairly similar with few notable differences (the main gameplay aspect being that it's a sandbox game where you can do anything you like). Same with a game like The Elder Scrolls, the storylines aren't very similar but the plot is.

A ton of other games work like it too. I think one failed attempt at a sequel was Neverwinter Nights 2. NWN was, to me, an awesome game. I was a bit "meh" on the storyline but I liked the gameplay. NWN sorta followed the gameplay style but Obsidian fucked so much up with it that I just don't think it worked, that, and it never needed a sequel.

Neverwinter Nights NEVER needed a damn sequel. Apparently Obsidian are now making Baldur's Gate 3 too. WHY THE FUCK FOR? BG2'S EXPANSION FINALISED THE SERIES, in fact, I think Obsidian just suck because they also made Star Wars: KotOR2 which I thought was an absolute pointless game that wasn't needed. So using them MAY be a bad example.

And no, I do not have to buy the game, watch the ads or even care. But I did not say "all sequels suck" I said some do, and some of the ones I've played do (unless implemented right).

Besides, how do you suppose I would know a sequel sucks if I haven't played it? Which leads to the hypocrisy of how I can complain if I've never played the game. Which also leads to the hypocrisy of how can someone complain about me complaining when they haven't played the game either (referring to new games)?

You can't say I don't have to care when you don't have to either. You can't say the games gunna be awesome just as much as I can it's gunna be good.

So apply this logic to the CoD franchise.

Never said it was going to be awesome.

Mate, I have no idea what you're complaining about now, you're complaining about a few bad sequels you've played? What does that have to do with CoD5? You make no sense
