Ehhh, looks like a spin-off.
Just one thing to say about the case picture, though....
GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!
The only thing that I am looking forward to is the APB footage.

I'm disgusted this is going to be a retail game, that's all. L4D as you've heard hasn't even been completed yet, the SDK is still in the beta and all features that were promised haven't been included yet. Here's hoping it will be released as some sort of expansion. I mean, they gave us a truck load lot of TF2 content for free which has always been cheaper than L4D.
Besides, black people.

Oh believe I bet you have SOME excitement but this is strangely disappointing of VALVe, I really hope they get everyone's mind set on if it's going to be expensive.

Honestly if the game is not in the night like in the First, i guess it will really sucks.

Huh?, that's strange? How so, I think it compliments the zombies with all the bright colours. L4D was a seriousish b-movie tone and this is gearing up to be a comical b-movie sequel set in Southern America (well known for being filled with slums, racists and New Orleans which are all contained in the game). Day time might change to night also because weather changes in this game apparently.

It seems as though they've incorporated all the requests by furious customers of the first L4D into the sequel.
That new "Charger" infected might just play out exactly like on a thread from the steamforums. The melee weapons, a story, etc..
This game better be half price since this is what L4D should have been, minus the new characters.
On a side note Microsoft's keynote on exclusives was pretty appealing.
Splinter Cell Conviction, Alan Wake, MGS, Forza and some new Halo action.

Doesn't look too bad but if people wanted these updates why the hell are they releasing it as a whole new game with a fucking costly (most likely) price tag on it? I highly doubt there'll be many graphical changes, if any and people demanded these in L4D?
How come they release free updates with TF2 but not L4D? You don't see them making Team Fortress 3 and all it is is TF2 with all the new character unlocks (of course, I wouldn't be surprised if they made a TF3 for the console versions with this exact thing in it).

They should make it free for those that have L4D.

I wouldn't say free, I'd say $20 max.

For those that haven't bought L4D, $20 max.
For those that have, free.

If they added 5 campaigns, weapons and new infected it would have been free. The fact they're going to have new voice acting, huge update to the AI director, graveyard director and new survivors etc will prove that wrong however.
Look you're just going to have to face the fact: Valve are going to rip you off.

Ain't buying it unless 3 of my Steam friends buy it.

I'm most likely going to wait for a Christmas deduction in its price. I'm not going to buy L4D-2 straight away.
I mean I AM going to get this either way, banjos?, New Orleans?, survivor looks like Uncle Phil and THE GREAT SOUTH?

I suggest everyone to complain on the Steam forums to complain about the price of L4D to at least seek a PC deduction in price if you own the original game, this is actually already very possible on the Steam Store because of the recent Football Manager 2009 and Football Manager Online offers!

lol wat - fucking LOL at the censor (edited it ofc)
On a more serious note, I won't buy it. Just seems pointless, especially for that crappy price. Plus, if you're still gonna play L4D James then I see no reason too lol.

I hope they don't do commentary for this game.
Jeez Valve, games are not movies, that you're so proud of them you have to include developer commentary.

I dgaf, Valve are cool guys. They rarely release new games and I'm happy to recieve SOMETHING from them this year. It's not like there won't be people playing L4D when L4D2 comes out.
Why would you complain about developer commentary?
This thread appears to be people complaining about more games and more features.. which is what everyone was complaining valve do a lack thereof.

I'm just saying, there's a certain whiff of pride and unmodesty around the Valve developer community, and it's not exactly a good thing to have.

I like the commentary myself, it's a nice insight to the way video games are developed and organized. I find that interesting.

Eh.
More on the topic, L4D II presents a ... unique ... environment. Still, looks promising.
