So I bought a bamboo

Every day I feel like I'm not growing in what USED to be my number one hobby.

I opened up CS4 and stared at a pattern I had defined for a good 4 minutes wonder what on earth it was for.

I realised it was scanlines.

I have gotten so out of practice I can't recognise the pattern for scanlines for crying out loud so I bought a bamboo to kickstart my re-entry into Photoshop.

When it gets here, what do I do with it? Any programs that have a nice synergy to PS that I should have that work well with tablets? (I already have illustrator).

And last of all can I use it to replace my mouse?

Oh yes, Illustrator will work fucking wonders with a tablet and I wish I had one of my own. As it is, making vectors and designs in Photoshop/Illustrator is just annoying. I think a tablet will do you good as I believe it opens up creative freedom.

IMO bamboo is too small to replace a mouse especially when on a large screen

I bought it to write formulas on lections to my netbook, and make my own digital signature. it's perfect for such needs

I'd love an A4/A3 size graphics tablet myself (21 x 29.7cm / 8.268 x 11.693in for A4, 29.7 x 42cm / 11.693 x 16.535in for A3 IIRC). They're not exactly "cheap" though.

I prefer doing photoshop/illustrator vector work with a mouse. It's more precise I find, even if less natural.

Also, CS4 is a shitpile.

Dae - try Mathtype (I can send you a copy if you want)
