Windows based ipod syncing on OSX.

Another question :o

So the ipod I have is a 16Gb Second Generation touch.

I formatted and synced it to my windows itunes using windows 7. HOWEVER. When I turned my Windows 7 PC into a hackintosh, I dragged and dropped all my songs back onto itunes on OSX with some new music. When i went to sync, OSX did not recognize my ipod. It only recognized it when I went into DFU mode.

When you initially set up your ipod, can you only use the OS you first set it up on?

Moral of this story: Don't use anything made by Apple.

I'm not displeased by their products, and it's no big deal =P I'm just wondering if I should restore my ipod with OSX and try sync?

You can sync your iPod only with one computer or OS, be it the first one for iPod or not.

If you want to change that default computer, iTunes will let you obtain addressbook/ringtones/photos from the device, but not music — all music on iPod will be deleted when you sync. (That's how they encourage you to buy legal music through iTunes store and keep it on your iTunes account, so you can re-download it from there).

Ahhhh, okay. I see now. Thanks alot Dae.

It's no big issue anyhow though :P I'll just restore my ipod and resync it with the hackintosh. I'll have to re-jailbreak my ipod again, but that's alright. I needed 3.0 anyways.
