Remember when FPS games used to be about strafejumping and leadshotting rockets so far ahead of the target because they moved at about 50250250mph?
Me too.
Remember when a multiplayer FPS on PC had dedicated servers, as STANDARD?
Me too.
Remember when PC games came out polished and just worked and no-one complained about 'oh system configurations maek developin hard'
Me too.
Well, one of the bastions of PC gaming, Splash damage has created Brink. A shootan about shootan like it should be. Here's the interview that turned me into a believer.

1. This "experience" system is annoying. I've always hated in in FPS games because every time I've tried to play some high-level with loads of upgrades comes and fucks me in the ass.
2. The class system, to me, just seems meh nowadays. I can just as easily play Battlefield 2 or TF2 for the same thing.
3. This game looks fucking awesome.

That's how I feel about the class implementation. And experience pisses me off. But I'm willing to give it a try...
...in 10 years when I have the fucking money after buying Dragon Age and L4D2.

This topic is now void shut up Ruben,
Do you construct things in TF2
There are 9 classes in TF2
Can you revive people in TF2
Is there more than one objective per map in TF2
Does TF2 have squads
Does TF2 have vehicles
Fundamental differences are what separate them, fundamental differences are also what make them different games.

Do you deny the similarities to mention the differences? The Enemy Territory has always been their answer to Team Fortress when it got bought as a Valve game.
Game over, YEAAAAAAAAAAA

Fifa and Pro Evo came from the same source, and they aren't entirely different especially when you change the control scheme to match the other

It's a game that plays like football what of it, that's like saying Quake and Doom are entirely different games.
They aren't.

Until you understand the phrase fundamentally different and how it applies to this context the argument will not move forward.

7:02 PM - PCFag: My point is that even though the ET series is evidently iD's answer to TF, the gameplay is fundamentally different. Enough so to render them incomparable.
yea
ok!!!!!!!!

Doesn't quote the part where I define that statement to mean incomparable on a gameplay level

Objective based class gameplay using the differences of the players to benefit you and counter the other team's efforts

No shit, but ET is more of a rip-off to the Battlefield games than to TF2. I, however, still think games like ET, TF2 and BF2 are all different games.

ET TF and BF are pretty much so similar it hurts. cap, dat, point

And yet, Battlefield was one of the first. Was before both ET and TF2 anyway. You're just a TF2 fag.

Out soon. Apparently not looking very good as I suspected. Slow game.
But I bet it IS going to better than the CURRENT TF2.

Complete mistake to buy this, got it during a price drop at £14. Played 8 hours of it but didn't have any real fun with it except designing my character. Avoid.
