There's nothing wrong with them.

That's unprofessional!
You should post some references before giving your statement.

I have no argument because I believe cover systems in games are good. If the game is easy blame it on the developers/AI/regenerate health systems because cover systems are infact good and have been since Metal Gear Solid.

Who says cover systems are based? What the fuck is wrong with them?
Are you telling me the same people who don't have a problem with shooting the enemy in an open area whilst being shot at and slowly losing their "health points" (regen can be included, doesn't matter) have a problem with COVER SYSTEMS? The idea of hiding behind something to AVOID being shot at? A feature which, last I checked, was pretty fucking realistic depending on the types of cover.
So basically, people want unrealistic but realistic games?

Hey, I don't mind that, just saying that most of the arguments against cover systems seem extremely null and void.

Cover system along with auto heal in DX3 will still be weird, though.
Oh how I will miss crouching around legless looking for soda.

Leaning was in DX1 so DX1 had covering.
third person cover does seem weird for fps though lol, like in vegas aaaaaa, I guess it's because first person leaning is kinda hard and they want you to see who's behin corners or over hurdles. We need mirrors for all main characters yeee.

Sure, but it'll use up an augmentation slot in DX3.

What's funny about that?, leaning does count as a cover. You can peak around corners in single player exactly like sticky cover in recent games except you're in full manual control.

Mass effects cover system is a worse version of GoW.

Mass Effect 1's cover is shite as fuck.
ME2's is definitely better than GoW 1 and 2's. lol.

No, you're absolutely right, but if you think that's a "cover system" then basically all FPS and third person shooters have a "cover system" thus making this topic rather... Irrelivant?

But a lot of games don't have a cover system even new ones, MW2 for example as opposed to MW1.

MW2 has a cover system despite the fact people are all around you, a good example would be the Favela mission
