Then they splinter off, form a new studio, go back to their roots, create new IP etc.

I think that was more Infinity Wards decision. After COD2 the original series went to shit.

Saw this about 4am this morning.

Not really surprising to me, I was already under the impression that these guys would just set up shop somewhere else, as other developers have done in the past (and succeeded as well). Furthermore, I fail to see how this is a bad thing in any sense of the word, chances are that these guy would have cut all ties with Activision once their contract finished anyway (which is probably why Activision wanted to get Treyarch to do the next CoD game so quickly). It's all a conflict of interest, I wouldn't mind more details on the "insubordination" however.

Some people claim that IW haven't been given royalties for CoD but the problem here is that, depending on their contract, they may not get anything until the end of the year. Again, depends on their contract, which we're not going to know.

We didn't need this to know Activision are gay.

Guitar Hero 5 / Band Hero are proof enough.

Actually, I think their plan was to more-or-less wait until their contract ended lol. I'm not too sure if they expected to be fired however.

Yes... disappointed, eh? Well, I think I'd be pretty disappointed if I didn't get royalties from a game I helped make. A game that earned the publisher several hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. I believe MW2's cost was approximately $40-50 million (don't quote me on this), didn't they MAKE $1 BILLION from it?

Read pages 2 and 10. Page 2 is bloody funny, it comes off as extremely arrogant on their part. Page 10 however, if true, is just plain sickening. If what they claim Activision done is sick then that's just fucking WRONG.

A lot of it seems rushed though, and worded in a way that seems catered for us, the general public, to understand. Most legal documents I've read are fucking difficult to comprehend at first but this one is just plain obvious. It's somewhat worrying.
