Now, a couple of questions.

Is the 850W CoolerMaster worth it, or should I just go for a cheaper solution that goes with the given specs?
Seeing as the RAM I'm buying isn't listed in the qualified vendor list for the motherboard I'm buying, would that present a problem?
Should I keep the GTX 260 instead of buying the HD 5850, seeing as if I did so I'd save like 290 euro? (huge prices ye)
Are there any possible conflicts and/or incompatibilities in the build?
Is there anything better you could recommend? (For a similar price ofc)

That's it for now, thanks.

Get a Corsair 750W
No it wouldn't
I advise you switch to the 5850, but if money is a problem just get a 460
Don't see any
Would recommend different but on my laptop and cba

Alright, thanks. Going to get a Corsair and a HD5850.

EDIT: Getting a Sapphire ATI HD5850 instead of the GIGABYTE one.

Good buy Dex, but replace your CPU with intel.

... You've got to be kidding me.
That would just double the price.

It's worth the 2x price.

What are you doing with your compy though? You can more that likely disregard my last post..

Also you should downgrade or find a better selection for one of your parts - I'm guessing you don't need 2TB of space, 1TB i think will suffice - and get a Phenom X6. Six cores, boyeeeeeee, and only for like $60 more. AMD are heroes

- Videogames
- FL Studio
- Listening to music
- Downloading

I can't even find a proper Intel equivalent to the CPU & MB I'm planning to buy. And I'm not doubling my budget on those two. Only buying Intel if there's a better one (along with a better MB) in the same price range.

I do need 2TB. Also any specific Phenom X6 you'd recommend?

The cheapest one on Newegg is $199, the 1055T.

why do you need 2TB? Downloading Native Instruments pt 2? :P

Exactly what I use mine for. Nevermind Stefan XD

Your AMD will be fine. As long as you arn't playing HXC games.

Well you could say that...
I need the space for music, games, VSTIs , backups etc
Besides I already have like 700 GB used.

Why do you want to upgrade a computer to play a poorly optimised game that doesn't even support proper anti aliasing due to the dynamic engine?
7:11 AM - Surprise!: dex = retard

7:12 AM - Dex: no
7:12 AM - Surprise!: yes
7:12 AM - Surprise!: why do you want to run bc2 with 5 more fps

RAM does not seem to be supported by the motherboard. I wouldn't pick that RAM anyways, at least take dual/triple/quad channel. And the motherboard seems overkill to me.

Your current:
RAM: PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
Motherboard: 4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1333/1066 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory

But hey, maybe the info I was provided was wrong.

The info is correct. Anything you'd recommend?

Also I'm probably getting a Phenom X6 1055t.

Thanks, checked it out - the price is also pretty good :P
As in, it costs as much as I paid for my last G5, but judging from the specs, it's way better lol

Oops, my bad, shouldn't have listed the OS under planning to buy.

Also changing my mind about the headset. I was thinking to get a Logitech Clearchat Comfort. Any recommendations?

It doesn't have this coarse surface like G5 though, the plastic is slick — but not so bad as on MX518.

also I'd go with Home Premium rather than Ultimate
(even if I wanted to crack it later)

My headset is Creative Fata1ty (not the USB one though) and I'm very satisfied with it. Pretty good sound quality, detachable mic, long cord.

That RAM is definitely overkill for you, or are you a diehard overclocker?

And I'll take a look for a motherboard later.

Well, I really don't have a specific RAM in mind, I'd just like to have stable 8 GB @1333 MHz.

Also the motherboard doesn't seem overkill to me. I mean it's pretty low-priced and has all the features I need.

Alright, I'll check the headset out. As for the OS, it's really no problem.
Back to the mouse, I've read both G5 and G500 have cord problems, as in, short life span. My old G5 died due to such problems. Still though, I'll keep the G500 as an option if there's no better alternatives. And what about Razer mice, are they any good?

One of my buddies has a Razer mouse. He loves it. I've tried it to, and was pleased with it.

I still think you're way to eager on getting a new PC dex. Your current system isn't even that old. :s What exactly makes you want to get a new system? I really can't see how you need more than you already have, with your current usage. It's always possible to get an external HDD of 1-2 TB next to what you already have, if that's the thing troubling you. (BC2 isn't a viable reason because it's unoptimized)

EDIT: ... Please don't tell me you've ruined your current system with overclocking... :P

The best thing about Dex is that he copies everyone (like how we got him to get the mice ages ago as a laugh Clix), I mentioned I was trying an (overpriced and one well with reception) Razer mouse but only if my MX518 ever broke.

Dex you definitely do not need a new computer, stop being so obsessed because it's annoying me. You tried to one up us all in L4D and 2 etc by getting new parts (he's been through like 5 graphics card in the last year and a bit lol) only to have me improving my current machine bit by bit which hasn't really changed at all since early 2009 except for new graphics card, processor (not a big difference) and RAM merely for an OS. and most of my fps difference came from fiddling around with my computer settings, graphics card output and registry... effectively optimising it.

Fuck sake you rubberbanded for 2 months in BC2 due to the Win7 bug and had a lil cry and the moment I switched to Win7 I figured it out in a fucking HOUR for you and me.

I've heard that recent ones have been immense and actually worth a try (ignoring the exaggerated DPI which even if it was like that it's unnecessary for these monitors anyway) but yes they're so fucking overpriced.

New case because mine is pretty much crap, too small, 'broken' a bit ( the USB jacks and audio jacks on the front are nonfunctional).
New PSU to support the newer components.
Upgrading MB to support AM3 processors, DDR3 RAM, Realtek onboard sound (since the VIA one I have at the moment is pretty bad).
Upgrading Processor due to constant low fps in a lot of games, the most recent one being BC2. I mean even L4D2 sometimes has huge fps drops for me. As well as more efficient working in FL Studio and other similar software.
Upgrading RAM due to the latter reason above.
Upgrading HDDs for more space.
As for the graphics card, I've decided. The GTX260 is pretty good (I can max out L4D2 and BC2) and I'm probably keeping it.
Getting a new mouse due to my current one not fitting my hand and randomly in-game my view moves a bit to the right or swirls around etc. I also want more buttons.
New keyboard due to the current one causing me problems due to it's drivers (Microsoft lol) and really has too big keys for me.
New speakers due to my current ones having low-quality shielding therefore it crackles whenever someone turns on a light in my house.
New webcam because mine is pretty much broken.

Well funny thing is, you never persuaded me to get a G5. What I did was go out and order a MX518, and it never arrived, but then I was offered a G5 which was even cheaper than the MX518 at the time. I accepted it and enjoyed the G5 (while it lasted, rip).
Also I didn't ask about Razer mice because you mentioned them earlier, I only asked about them if I decided not to buy a G5 or a G500, but a Razer alternative.

As for my graphics card switching:
My 7600GS broke so I got a 9500GT for free.
I was then bought a 9600GT as a birthday present.
Then I was supposed to "test" a GTX260, but I kept it (was allowed to do so, ofc).

And thanks again for finding a fix for the rubberbanding.
