In an interview with Joystiq, Cold Beam Games CEO Steve Hunt revealed the new project. Hunt promises new enemy types, power-ups, and game modes in Beat Hazard Ultra. He's also adding in "the most requested feature" for the game: online play.

I was actually going to write to Steve again asking about some kind of online feature, after SOMEBODY'S *glares @ you, James* bright idea to play The Mars Volta got me b& from the game for several days.
