AMD Eyefinity

With the 5xxx series of AMD cards and up, you're allowed 3-6 displays from one card. AMD called this setup "Eyefinity"

Here's Deus Ex running on an HD 6970 and 3 20" monitors, (a total of 4800 x 900 resolution):

Warning: VERY HIGH FILE SIZE

It's really amazing, but in some games (like Deus Ex), the picture stretches instead of achieving a full FOV. Maybe setting back the FOV will improve it?

FAR OUT MAAAAAAAN

In conclusion, it's a great setup and only for around ~$800. You can even do it on a mid-range card like the 5770, which will bring the price down to maybe $500-600. But you have to keep in mind, one graphics card is handling the pixel duty of 3 displays, so it's going to be a little bit stressed (especially during games). Multitasking is made a million times easier, you can have 10 windows open at once side-by-side, and you'll never have to sidescroll again.

NVidia has a similar setup, it's called Surround. But it requires two cards and the three monitors have to be of the same resolution and make, not like AMD's Eyefinity where you can hook up three different monitors of different resolutions.

Yeaaa multimonitor is the future :]

2 monitors of different resolutions on one nvidia card isn't a problem at all though.

THIS is boss.

I don't see most people in a circumstance of having three different brands and/or each or one in a different resolution than others. Usually when people buy an AMD card for eyefinity, they pick a monitor, and buy three of the same..

If I went with a triple monitor setup, it would have to be with a seamless display. The seams drive my OCD insaneeee.

I have a feeling that monitors are going to feature clippable/unclippable borders to eliminate seams down the road. I mean, would it not make sense to do this? Why hasn't any company done this yet?

it's actually way cheaper to get 6 individual monitors of that size

like you'll pay maybe ~$996 for the monitors themselves, and $336 for the stand

That's a good point too. I'd rather buy 6 monitors without seems, and buy a good stand. (What you just said pretty much haha)

I was joking  It's a breakthrough in resolution.. but for that size of a monitor screen. EVERYTHING would be wayyy too small.
