I'm thinking of saying eff it to p67 and sandy bridge altogether and going with an x58 sabertooth. What do you guys think?

For a gaming rig:

I only need an LG1366 socket, 4 DIMS, and a PCI-E really...

I think it's a steal for price/performance.

older gen i7s are not exactly stable and power-friendly

So I should wait for sandy to come home on her new bridge then?

But I really don't think I'll need to spend the extra $200-$300 on the Maximus IV though.. I really don't need 4 pcie slots :/

The only real differences are the extra 2 PCIe slots minus on PSI, and an extra dim slot. Oh, and it's RED, which I really don't give a shit about :/

EDIT: I do give a shit about it. Just looked at it again and really want it :(

Sound right?

Thanks alot :) I'll probably go with the p67 sabertooth then. It's a pretty awesome mobo.

well i mean, one of the major reasons intel even made sandybridge was that people couldn't afford high-priced 1st gen i7s like Nehalem and so, they basically made a smaller, more power efficient, overclockable series of i7s for the price of an i3 or an i5.

it's up to you.

Wait for Ivy to come across on her 22nm bridge.

Fuck it. I'll just wait for p67.

but I really don't need Maximus IV.

As long as I have an 1155, 2 PCIe's, 4 DIMMS I'll be fine.
