Deus Ex Alpha

SO being that it's my favourite FF game, I've started to play it again.

I'll use this thread to post screenies of progress etc.

I'm currently in the Al Bhed ruins right after leaving Zanarkand.

I'm fighting alongside Rikku as it is my first encounter with her. However Tidus does not know her yet hence the "????".

Mediocre game that had a terrible story where the main character was incorrectly given the role instead of his father.

Awkward voice acting.
Awful story
Beautiful graphics at the time.
Good but stale turn based combat.
Amazing summon system
No exploring the world map properly

FFX-2 was better in every way except the voice acting and story, which got worse.

I actually liked the story. The voice acting was good, but yes, awkward, and a bit out of sync with the animations at times. Loved the entire world, and graphics. I didn't think the combat was stale, but to each their own

. Everything else I agree with.

X-2 was fun, but I didn't like it NEAR as much as I did X.

The only good plot elements presented were the story's present day technophobia to past catastrophic events regarding the world's most advanced civilisation fell. A conspiracy of dead spirits masquerading as living heads of the world's prominent religion adhering to train summoners in a ritual to calm the terror brought on by capital-S Sin which actually rejuvenates it in a new body. Technophobia.

Oh wait, another FF game where religion is evil, who would have thought? /sarcasm

By the way, force anti aliasing on that shit.

Also, thank god they didn't make XIII-2oh wait-

I'll be playing more of it today after I get some bloodwork done. I have this, so the doctor needs bloodwork every so often for the next couple years to assure I don't have rheumatoid arthritis, or lupus (insert house joke here).

Yeah, FF7 is too overrated. I find people that refuse to like any other FF game other than 7, have never played any other FF game in their life.

FFX is my beighb, and always will be.

FFXIII was fucked up hard. Not to mention that they obliterated an already destroyed game with a shit unnecessary sequel. I loved the soundtrack, and certain aspects of the story in FFXIII. Everything else straight up blew.

So this is the part where Tidus first learns about the summoner Yuna in the sanctum, and races into the cloyster of trials (which only summoners and their guardians are allowed into by prayer of 'Yevon', their 'God')

By this part, Tidus has met Yuna, Lulu, and knows Wakka fairly well.

When he went to sleep that night, he had Flashbacks of his Dad (Jecht, btw I'm soo naming my son that If I have one lol) whom he hates, in some sort of twisted dream with Yuna and Rikku.

NOW I PREPARE FOR LUCA THE NEXT DAY. SHIT GETS INTENSE IN LUCA.

When I played it again after a few years, I forgot how bad the graphics and lip syncing was. If the graphics are significantly better, I'll definitely get it for the PSV.

Don't hold your breath, they'll most likely re-render the original cutscenes to 16:9 1080p, upgrade textures and the cinematic models might be used throughout instead of the low poly ones you see during battles, exploration etc. Similar stuff to RE4 and Code Veronica X

Resident Evil 1 Remake is a good standard to work to for a remake.

More importantly where is the FF7 remake?, because of the game's hideous and cocked up translation we have never played FF7 as it should have been...

e.g. differences from the innovative character Barret in the Japanese version, changed in the lost in translation English version where they made him Mr. T.

thats my top 10, it takes alot to impress me in FF games, being the FF Freak i am, 9 is by FAR the best ff ever made, if you disagree your just overhyping 7, 8's better than that (dont get me wrong 7 is great, but very overrated)
