Add tentacles.

I really hope there will be a non-origin BF3 version.

Yeah... EA destroys things.

Then they have a random spike for a period of time where they're actually good.

Then they continue to destroy things. COUGHLETSPULLOURSHITOFFSTEAMCOUGH

I can't agree with it. It was cool to play. Casual as hell, but still enjoyable.

Well, RA is only for those who don't mind the seriousity of the game and enjoy a fast paced RTS combat. Many friends of mine stopped playing it after their ships were sunk by giant squids...

LMFAO. I dunno what it is but my dad has something called impulse on this pc which looks suspiciously like another digital dl platform? Stardock I think? =S

Hated steam when it first came out, but then I did have 64Mb RAM and a Pentium 3...

Love it now, it's convenient. I gave in. Buuuuuuuuuut... the uber-convenience and already huge monopoly Valve hold over this market leaves me wondering why anyone else would wanna bother??

I think a lot of people hated Steam when it came out, now its ultimately a good community service and an almost flawless DRM system for mulitplayer games that use Steamworks.

Yeah, but this is over many years. Years that most people won't bother putting into Origin.

WARNING.

Origin is spyware. You'll see what I mean. Have a read.

edit: Just uninstalled it. I had it installed during the BF3 beta (which is now over).

I guess I'm one of the few who still loathe it. I use it, but only because I'm forced to.

Software like Steam and Origin would be fine had I the choice to use them. As it stands, any developer who actively uses Steamworks for their games is basically refusing me that choice. The service itself is great, it's the fact that I have to be online to install and activate the game before I can play it.

To most people that might not sound like much. Even I have the internet (or at least, do now). But the majority of the world do not have the internet or it is heavily censored. There are still hundreds of millions of potential revenue that companies like Steam or that use Steam are missing out on.

As for Origin? I'll go to extreme lengths not to use that bloated pile of junk. I'd rather pirate EA's games than have their shoddy service shoved down my throat. Not only because pirates don't deal with the DRM bullshit but also because Origin's terms of service effectively allow them to view virtually all information I have on my computer. How the hell that even gets past privacy laws is beyond me.

I agree 100%, that's why I listed multiplayer videogames only for the DRM. I think always on client/online DRM for single-player games is horrible.
