Anyone got something to complain about EA trying to compete with Steam and basically fucking up already?

Can't find another source

They're possibly going to do this with all of their games, you see Origin is going to be mostly EA exclusive too...

Why are people trying to compete?!

That's odd, in before it costs more too.

So Steam doesn't become a monopoly!

But I agree in saying Origin will be far shittier than Steam

Very slow rates and manages to waste more memory, apparently.

Shit, he's right.

That's just fucked up. Origin is shit.

EA is bi-polar. Sometimes things can be good, sometimes they can fuck everything up.

It is valves fault then too eh? Hmmmm.

I amongst most PC gamers will NEVER use origin.

it's not valve's fault at all, EA is just pointing fingers to cover up for shady business practices

That's what I'm talking about here.

EA is obviously pointing fingers, and I'm not saying it's entirely Valve's fault. But valve's tos gave EA a reason to do what they want (Origin) using a valid (bullshit) excuse.

If Valve didn't have this new tos, EA would just have to own up and tell the truth.

Regardless, Origin will fail, and EA will lose money (especially if BF3 is exclusive to Origin).

I do not think BF3 will be exclusive to Origin as D2D already has BF3 up for pre-order.

-but who's to say they won't pull it off of D2D and make it an "Origin Exclusive"?

For some reason I didn't realize Bioware was owned by EA, slightly more concerned about the Old Republic now :<

doh EA

I hope Steam does get some actual competition though; 30% for developers (last I heard) is insane

How much for publishers and that in comparison of retail (+ retail reselling)?

Fair point - probably around the same, but I can't imagine it costs nearly as much for digital distribution (plus some advertising on Steam I guess).

Digital Distribution is costly on 'mostly' all platforms nowadays unfortunantly

This MEANS... Crytek must have actually WANTED TO ABANDON STEAM!

IM A GENIUS GUYS! CHECK OUT MY ASSUMPTION!

Crytek: No. (EA... WHY. WHY?!?!??)

ynnaD wrote:Digital Distribution is costly on 'mostly' all platforms nowadays unfortunantly

Yeah D4nny, but I find Steam to have the absolute best deals. Not to mention random deals and such that they have.

No other Digital platform can compete really. Everyone flocks to steam.

I have no idea what's up EA's ass, but Origin is going to fail hard.

I can see genuine retarded skateboard kids and jocks buying a pc game one day for their shit PC for whoknowsthefuckwhy, and HAVING to install origin to play.

-but that's it. No Dice EA, No Dice.

What is Danny trying to say?

I think he's trying to say that it'll be the same price for games if you go with origin, or steam, so it doesn't really matter cost-wise.

I've noted that several game packages (e.g Battleforge) have also been removed from *every* competitive digital download service with Origins launch. Competition is a healthy thing, but EA is clearly trying to control the market through force and quickly reclaiming their greedy image which they had only just begun to shed.

Lol, I didn't understand everything, but it says that EA created a new online shop called Origin with some fucked rules and that Valve can't accept it?
