Article about playtesters/user feedback influencing the development of videogames. Interesting for those who are unhappy at Half Life 2 series content being removed because of confused playtesters.

I sometimes think what games would be like without play testers.

I know that most of the original content was removed cause of the leaked beta

Valve bring in playtesters who don't often play games, such as family members, to make the game appeal to everyone.

There's more than this around as an example:

Just have a look at some of the tales on their commentaries, a lot was taken out because of confused playtesters.

And the original content in the leaked alpha was cut because it SUCKED
