Serious Sam 3: BFE (Before the First Encounter)

Postby Aidan » Thu Aug 11, 11 5:34 pm

Thought I'd make this thread because I CAN'T WAIT.

"16 Player Co-Op... The more friends you have playing, the more enemies their are."

Serious Sam games have never ever failed me due to the simplicity, humor, addictiveness, and COMPLETE RANDOM SHIT.

If you haven't played any of the games, I highly recommend you do. I remember playing them years ago, and so I have re-installed the series, and am playing them.

Have to quote this guy on a youtube vid as well lol:

BACKWARD :S

RİGHT : D

LEFT : A

SHOOT : LEFT MOUSE BUTTON

OTHER ALL BUTTONS : YELL "OHYEAH"

Their artists must have a ball with all the character models, and environments.

I think their entire team probably has fun making SS games.

If there's any game worth buying at the moment, Serious Sam Series is worth it for sure.

You can get the gold edition on steam too for a great price, and comes with the first and second games as well as the HD reworks. Serious Sam 2 you'll have to buy separately (Serious Sam 2 is not on Steam by the way). BUT ITS SO WORTH IT.

Only going to be released on Steam, and not Devolver's Imaginary Digital Store "Krundle" lol.

Funny article... They even bash Origin!

It's a shame they didn't decide to create Krundle, because it had some amazing features:

-Unconventional preorder incentives like in-game nachos and undetonated Cold War era munitions

-Free-to-Play-for-Fifty-Bucks games wherein the consumer is free to play the game once it is purchased for $50

-Complimentary Portuguese adult films with purchases of $200 or more

"I guess consumers could also sign-up for EA’s Origin service if they are into 10-year-old train simulators,” added Fork. "But you can be sure those sons of bitches will never deliver in-game nachos." - Devolver CFO Fork Parker

Lol.

Bought it during the Gaben Sale of Goodness; but haven't played it 'till today.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I was playing the entire day, then realized I was playing the entire day, and did some productive tasks, haha.

People really do suck online though; but of course versus mode isn't really what SS is about. Now CO-OPERATIVE play. That's a whole other story, and a whole lot of fun that induced a three hour headache. 100 kamikazes coming at you from every direction is quite the mindfuck.

I would love to pick this game up. A few weeks back a friend and I played the whole second game on Serious difficulty.

Yeah... we changed back about half-way through. It got tedious more than anything. :P

You brave souls

Yeah, if you liked any previous SS game, you'll LOVE this. I spent another entire day playing it (again), lol.

The stage I was on today was absolutely absurd. There were at LEAST 200 enemies EVERYWHERE + A Mothership. Jesus, wayy too much fun.

My friend (the one I played SS with) has said good things about the game, unfortunately I cannot afford it at the moment so will probably wait until it's on special or something (because we all know Steam loves specials, and I love Steam specials).

I want to get a pirated copy just so I can see this:

At some point we stuck infinite respawns and ammo on but kept the monster count because we knew we'd be dying a lot so having to restart the whole game would just be really frustrating.

A tip for anyone attempting such a feat with their own friends: Don't use friendly fire. Seriously. It's pretty goddamn funny at the start (and it makes some pretty hilarious video footage as we saw afterwards) but when you're trying to take down a million and one skeleton horses, it really fucking sucks.

Not sure what he's up to now but my mate was editing a bunch of our video feed to create a death montage, of sorts. Picture it: About 6-8 hours of footage (played the whole game in one night because I hadn't played Serious Sam in over 5 years and it sounded like a good idea), most of that probably being death screens.

Oh god, I love the immortal scorpian. In addition, Croteam made another in case the scorpion was bypassed LOL...

Head in the air spinning with infinite kamikazes coming from every direction.

I love the fact that he keeps trying.

Wow, sounds like quite the adventure. Hell, I'm going to give Serious mode a shot tonight after I beat normal mode (which is also fucking hard... until you get all of the weapons wink:).

I tried Serious on singleplayer. Never got past the first level.

It's fucking insanely hard man. You get raped from all blimmin' sides.

I absolutely love little "pirate easter eggs" like that, even though it's unlikely most people will see them since they'll eventually get removed and the game will run fine cracked.

It reminds me of a little message pirates got in Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen I believe it was. When you got so far you'd head out on a boat to some obscure island (new content that wasn't in the original titles) and when you arrived the guy at the dock would say:

"By the way, if you like this game, buy it or die!"
