So, has anyone got this game yet?

I plan on picking it up today...

Oh and hello

Hey dude. Don't have a PS4 but enjoy it.
Seems to be the most understandable plot in the series!

I didn't even realize there was another Darksouls out, is it coming to PC?

EDIT: Or is there just a demo currently, don't have a console myself.

It's called BloodBorne and it's a PS4 exclusive.

Bloodborne is technically not apart of the Souls series, so unless you wanna change the title to "FROM Soft's RPGs" it shouldn't be included.

YES I AM BEING A PEDANTIC CUNT. SEE IF I CARE.

In all seriousness, Bloodborne is apparently good but being a PC gamer and not having the money to just go out and buy a PS4 Sony can go fuck themselves. It won't come out on PC because, like Demon's Souls, it's co-produced by Sony, not just FROM.

To be frank I don't expect a Dark Souls 3 and I don't expect FROM to make another PC game.

They refer to it as a Souls game in packs sent to people though. They aren't pretending it isnt.

Also it's a safe bet they'll announce a 5th Souls game for 2017, but I want Armored Core 6.

I'm not saying they won't release a 5th Souls game, rather I'm saying that it won't come out on PC. I just can't imagine FROM will bother after the bombshell that was both Dark Souls and Dark Souls II.

The first was forgivable, the second not so much. You can't tell me it was designed for the PC first then introduce problems such as the durability bug and still have issues with controls. I mean it's better sure, but virtually anything was better than Dark Souls, that's not saying much.

And let's not forget the bullshit that is Scholar of the First Sin. A $10 discount for people with the DLC vs. those without it? The fuck is this? The DLC cost way more that, assholes.

Oddly enough the framerate durability bug is in the PS4 and Xbone version of Scholar. :S

Also it's safe to say Bandai and developers working for or with them such as From have started to take PC a lot more seriously. Dark Souls 2's problems exist elsewhere i.e. see above.

It's because it's an engine thing. As we know everything Dark Souls does is related to frames, but from what I could find on Google the game doesn't use delta timing to keep things consistent. It does in some cases and doesn't in others.

It doesn't affect the old consoles because they are fixed at 30 (wild mild fluctuation) whilst the PS4 and XBONE are no longer capped at 30 and hence it now affects them, too. Fixing it would likely require mucking about with the engine which FROM don't seem to wanna do.

I don't feel that this is a sign that FROM are taking the PC seriously, rather that they designed the game to work on the PS3 and X360 and the decision to port them to the new consoles was an afterthought, not something pre-planned during original development.

Scholar of the First Sin is an easy cash grab for FROM. I don't believe it was planned at the time of release.

I really liked DS2 to be honest, I played a lot of PvP until they nerfed casters and haste to the ground then kind of lost interest. It didn't seem like a bad port outside of having to use a controller. (and the flying hackers spewing 10,000 firebombs at you)

Dark Souls 2 is way better with KB+M. Dark Souls 1 is alright but I prefer it anyway.

That's not what I'm saying. I'm not saying it's not better, but rather than it could have been better.

Not sure, I played the first half hour with keyboard and mouse and didn't get on with it; it's the only game I've ever played on PC where I felt I had to use a controller. Played around 400 hours overall. I tried remapping stuff, probably would have got used to it over time perhaps but I found the controller a lot easier. Apparently DS1 you pretty much have to download user-created addons to make it a decent experience/port.

This is true. DSfix and DSMfix are more or less necessary if you don't want to pull your hair out.

It's not as bad in Dark Souls 2; the biggest issues are mouse latency (guard breaks and jump attacks are notoriously difficult - I could never do them with the default keys) and you can't bind everything to anything you want. The biggest issue I have here is I can't bind something to Shift+MB and then use the same modifier elsewhere.

I resort to AutoHotKey because weapon swapping and the mouse latency on attacks is pain. You can't just swing after swing after swing by default due to the small delay it has to allow for strong attacks (double tap by default).

Free aiming with mouse is a god send in both games to allow you to even hit things properly in melee range or do locational damage with your attack frames.

Yup, that's why I'll put up with the KB bullshit regardless. That's basically the only real issue I have with controllers: Aiming.

To be fair, I am looking forward to Scholar of the First Sin just as a reason to play again. I held off just because DX11 doesn't support DX9 saves (which is retarded but whatever). I'm not too keen on the price ($10 less because I own the DLC? wat?) but eh, whatever.

I've been wanting to get into DaS2 again but as said, the saves thing put me off when I was fairly certain I'd be buying SotFS anyway. I haven't finished any of the DLC either which is supposed to be really good (better than the original campaign).

Ah interesting, I was pretty much exclusively a caster so could be why I didn't experience as many issues. Still dislike the haste/soulspear changes though, did over 1,000 invasions/blue sentinel summons and saw very few casters, but they still felt the need to nerf them heavily. :(

Casters have always been kind of iffy in Dark Souls pvp, just because at high levels of play people will just dodge everything anyway, so the only spells that tend to work well are the fast-casting spells of Pyromancy or Dark Magic.

So yeah, Bloodborne is a massive dodge fest. Although there is one shield in the game, the pace is what keeps it interesting and the fact that death is so prevalent (staying true to it's roots I guess lol).

Anyone else see that new announcement for a Deus Ex Mankind Divided?

Yeah. Looks like another safe game and I'm definitely convinced they'll make a game just as good as the last. Some cool stuff in that CGI trailer like another cameo of Bob Page, rocket punch, gun arm and robot suit non-augs.

Been looking at Wiki, there appears to be a lot of Skills on top of usual magic/attacks etc.

http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Skills

Looks interesting. Magic looks like usual, soulspears, lightning spears etc. Thankfully no spell charges this time (Invaiding and being 3vs1 against bad players and running out of spells towards the end was always annoying).

But so far looks interesting. Not sure if to buy at £33 or wait, assume it won't get any cheaper.

But regardless DS3 and new Deus Ex are my most anticipated games this year. No Man's Sky have to see, and sounds like new Hitman is a money-grabbing flop (paid for levels or something).
