I'm not looking forward to Skyrim until it gets a GOTY edition, and the mod life is big. Not doing the same mistake with New Vegas.

3DS when the new one comes out, the current system is haggard as Hell. As for PSP/PSV, piracy because they don't interest me.

It always amuses me why people want another Half Life title, I mean it will happen but Valve's newer IPs are better.

Bullshits, it's like saying that it would be ok for eidos to release the missing link in 4-5 years and in mean time develop other games.

There's a good number who simply don't click for Half Life 2 games. Personally HL2 was one of the most boring FPS games I've ever played. The episodes blow it out of the water, but I would rather them to bury Half Life and explore their new games some more.

edit: To elaborate, I feel that they shouldn't restrict themselves and develop as many projects as they want.

Being a game that sold 10-15 million copies I think that bury it would be a stupid idea. HL is an excellent FPS game with not only a good story and astonishing graphics (for the time) but also an emotional\story involving factor giving it something more than any other FPS on rails.

Had a massive post on HL2 personally but I just didn't like it, you're right it is a good decision, but like I said I feel they should finish episode 3 or HL3 and just bury the series. Their creativity blooms elsewhere, also they make so much more on micro transactions which proves hard to do in a singleplayer game.

I appreciate that they shouldn't restrict themselves in their projects, or even that they should maybe replace half-life as their core backbone project to fall back on.

Half-life will have massive longevity, and gameplay aside, from a business point of view, it's an IP they can't afford to make a mistake with, because it generates a massive amount of hype, and HL2 initialised source developed modifications.

Potentially HL3 could introduce another moddable engine, which of course increases the modding community yet again.

If they continue Half Life, I'm happy as long as they don't restrict themselves to Gordon Freeman.

Because?

They planned it to end with episode 3 in the first place.

I'm sure master chief has been planned to end his regime on Halo

Never for long

It's all about the money

Gordan Freeman sells

No, Half Life sells. They can easily introduce a new protagonist.

Halo Reach sold.

Master Chief will inevitably be back.

Is it worth the risk for Valve to make a half life game without Gordan Freeman?

The characters are illustrated.

Episode 3 needs to end the combine saga, half life 3 needs to begin with a new crisis.

Nostalgia is a massive selling point. Would Portal 2 have sold without Glados? Or even without Chell?

Barney throwing you a crowbar is a great nod to fans of the game. What will they do without the crowbar, or the wielder of said crowbar?

It's not worth the risk, he's a silent protagonist which makes him have even more longevity.

Masterchief will be back, unwillingly of Bungie who are not developing Halo 4.

Valve, namely Gabe Newell, has said on multiple accounts that Half Life sequels may appear in the future but Gordon's story will come to close in episode 3 (or Half Life 3, what ever they're planning)

Also, don't forget Deus Ex, Invisible War and Human Revolution. I feel that Half Life isn't Half Life because of the same protagonist.

GTA. I liked GTA IV, but my hopes are for a game with more freedom like San Andreas. That part was absolutely extraordinary.

Starcraft. I'm not looking forward for the zerg campaign, I'm a singleplayer noob and I like to play for terrans. <s>Kerrigan is sexy though</s>.

Hitman.

Half Life.

San Andreas for me was so so much better than GTA4, GTA was never meant to be real and shit, its fun factor was how dumb it was, GTA4 lost a lot of that for me

Played GTA4 BoGT yet?, great game, almost as good as the GTA3 series.
