Working on a project with a number of people, need suggestions for hosting.

Need:
CPanel
To work with Wordpress
To work with PHPBB
To work with Redmine
To be upgradable in both storage and bandwidth if as and when we get bigger.

-Snip-

As cheap as possibru but not so cheap that its worthless
Bonus points if they have a free first month

Had a search on the forums but could only come up with some free hosting garbage

From my experience I've always found 1and1.co.uk to offer nice VPS/Dedicated box services at reasonable prices and with good support. Not tried their shared hosting though, but face-value seems pretty good (you have two options, 6 months free + setup fee of £4.99 and minimum contract of 1year or pay the normal fee from the get go without any minimum term). The only thing it doesn't meet is your requirement for CPanel (they offer Plesk which takes some getting used to, but it's just as functional).

Redmine is written on Ruby which isn't a part of a typical LAMP stack.

Five years ago we chose to rent a dedicated server in Germany, and never wanted to return to shared hosting since then. We as well offer hosting on our dedicated server to friends, £53/year but we don't do Ruby and also I wouldn't say it's cheap.

£53/year averages out to about £5 a month, not cheap but that is around what I was expecting to pay, if not a little less than I was thinking actually. If I can find something like Redmine that works without Ruby I'd love to take you up on that.

Alternatively it seems that you can host it for free on Amazon EC2.

Works for me. Thanks for looking that up. I'll take you up on your offer over the weekend.
