Dude makes a lot of good points, and you know what? I'd be quite happy to see mobile devices get strong enough to take the place of consoles. He jumped the gun somewhat by stating Infinity Blade = COD, that's not really the best comparison to make.

I believe consoles have at least one more generation (not necessarily a whole generation) left in them before such a takeover happens.

Anywho, I don't care too much anyway, because it'll take one hell of a mobile device to compete with a good PC. Furthermore, mobile devices have terrible controls. The solutions toward this are either devices like the Xperia Play, or connecting a controller via bluetooth. The latter makes a mobile device far less mobile.

So yeah, probably. But they've still got some way to go.

USB and HDMI compatibility will make all console gaming portable. What companies would be willing to do this?
