do you kno if Final Fantasy Tactics on GBA is good or not?

never played it, want to play it, if you liked FF5 and maybe FFX-2 then yes it is

my pal next door played it alot

he said it was a good little game, nice and addicting, but it wasnt really like any of the other FFs

there isnt a real world map, and when inside cities and villages, movement is limited

battles are also remarkably strange...
the battles are fought on Grid Maps, and each character has a certain number of moves, and a corresponding attack power

i would buy it simply because its different to all the rest

i asked cuz my friend says he played it on his computer [emulator ROM] and sed it sucked ace [ass]. so i was wondering whether i should take his word, but i got my allowance figured out, so no harm done since im buying it anyway ^^. i read the review for it and yes, it did mention something about a brand new battle system, using the grid system [only its more advance], its sorta like Megaman EXE game with the grid system. and things are quite different than the rest of the FF series. thanx for the advices =D

This is all confusing

Final Fantasy is a series of Role Playing Games which has dated back to the original Nintendo Entertainment System, the first game was simply about how 4 warriors had to run around after crystals and kill the bad guy, from I-V the spinal story structure was pretty much the same, obviously leaving sub plots to be game specific.

When FFVI came out on the Super Nintendo it had an extremely different storyline, and seriously dense and very well grafted story in general, instead of knights running around saving crystals and killing evil dudes, it had a half woman half esper, slightly crazed green hair girl, whos main objectives were basically wtf and the main bad guy was a demented clown!

After that came FFVII on the PS1, a graphical achievement and credited as the best ff of all time, and it is pretty frikin outstanding

FFVIII-X have been pretty standard stuff, diferent storylines, better graphics, however the company, Square-Enix decided that FFX should have a sequal, which didnt go down well, and other spin off games have been made

to make matters more complicated Square decided instead of calling their internet capable FF, FFOnline, they called it FFXI ¬__¬

its more than 10 now, FFXI is out for PC and PS2 whereas FFXII is out in Japan on PS2.
the rest is for gameboy or some kind of hand held game system...
