Deus Ex Alpha

I'm saving up for either a PS3 or an XBOX360. Now I have to take the following things into consideration:

1. Whichever one I buy will go with me to Uni.
2. Game series. For example, there are some games like the FF series that you won't get on XBOX. Anyone know which will and which won't be on either?
3. Which will last longer. I.e which will stay 'up to date' the longest.

Now I just want honest opinions and actual evidence. I don't want 'amagad xbox is shit' or 'ps3 is teh gayzors'.

And I want to hear nothing of the Wii.

FF for ps3... Halo for xbox, (pretty much what it boils down to) which do you prefer?

Wow... the most overrated series of all time (Final Fantasy) vs the most overated fan-crazy game of all time (Halo 3)...

I would go with teh Halo 3.

No it is overrated because your average computer geek goes CRAAAZY about it. Everyone says its the best, everyone uses it in sigs, etc etc.

The only Final Fantasy I played was FF8. And it sucked.

You should see FF in Japan. Japanese people suicide if they delay FF releases.

I MUCH prefer FF, trouble is 360 has games like Viva pinata and GOW etc, which I really want to play.

@Derek, once again you judge an ENTIRE series on ONE game, which is no where near its best.

My brother is getting a PS3 for FF and the like, FFXII looks really good! I wouldn't mind playing Halo, but I still think it wasn't all that great...both releases.

It comes down to what you want to play, do some research into the games that are planned for release. Don't trust PS3 games with the screenshots when the games aren't out yet, little advice Biggest bullshitters in the industry.

Halo3 won't even be good, unless you liked Halo2 which I thought was shit as fuck. But if you like racing games, Forza2 comes out early next year and if you had Forza1 you will sell your lungs to get this game. Then PGR4 comes out end next year.

Viva Pinata actually good? lol And yes, you should want to play GoW, it's one of the best games ever created in my opinion.

Metal gear solid 4 on PS3 too... To me its: PS3: Racing games, maybe some ok fighting games and shooting games ect. And Xbox360 has shooting games and RolePlay (Oblivion ect.) Also PS3 have like $60 games or something, so it also matters on how much money you want to spend!

PS3 doesn't have good driving games.

I want to play Dead Rising and GOW so badly but I want FFXII as well.

I just realised Final Fantasy XII will be on PS2 rather then PS3. It was FFXIII that will be out on the PS3!

I say XBox360. I think you'll find that getting hold of a PS3 will be pretty much impossible for a good 6 months after its release.

My argument is:

- Xbox360 is cheaper and the price for the premium system has dropped (also the bigger hard-drive is coming out soon)
- There are plenty a good game already out on the 360 and many more to come (God I'm already waiting like crazy for the next G.o.W )
- You can play FFXI on the Xbox360, so I don't see why FFXII wouldn't be coming out on there too.
- XBL is ace, I've never played the PS2 online though so I can't say if its better than that. I dunno owt about the PS3's online capabilities.
- Xbox360 is backwards compatible with quite a lot of games, the PS3 isn't full backwards compatible, and it doesn't take PS2 memory cards apparently.
- The PS3 is HD only, so you'll need a decent telly to support it.

But thats just my opinion on the subject.

I'll play on the PS3 when we get it in stock in a few months (all being well) but I have no intention of buying it and there's no way I'm spending over £500 just for Final Fantasy. I do really really like FF, but I'm not bankrupting myself over a game.

Thats fair enough, but to be honest I wouldn't get one as soon as it came out anyway.

Thing is I had played on my sisters boyfriends 360 yesterday and was blown away by Rainbow Six: Vegas. I was really annoyed it wasn't released on PS2. Though that being said, GRAW was no where near as good on the PS2 as the 360...

What do you mean the PS3 isnt fully backwards compatible. And HD only? First I've heard of that :S

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to play GoW as my little brother was present

As daft as it is, the only thing stopping me from getting a 360 thus far is FFXIII. Choco I don't suppose people at work might know?

I would stay with xbox 360 because there are some really kick ass titles coming out soon.

I can't imagine many other people will have a PS3, because of its dumb price. So the online will be pretty much pointless for a while.

And the 360 is great. Especialy GoW.

I can check the release date book but its so far into the future anything can happen. Most things past March are TBC because there's no guarantee on any set date.
