They didn't replace anything, they ripped it out. All future emulation is to be done on the software level, not at the hardware level.

As it stands, nearly 2000 PS2 games are playable on the PS3, and the patch that fixes display problems is already included with the PAL versions.

Both Gamecube and Xbox outsold the PS2 in the first two years of the console war and we all know who won that battle so there is nothing to worry about there

If you wanna fork out a lot of money for something, which most of teh good gaming titles and series will run on multiple platforms or just completely revert to 360, thats fine

I still think the Wii is going to be the breakthrough "next gen" console anyway

If you enjoy the games yeh, but I don't think we will be seeing any good driving sim's or TPS/FPS games arriving on the Wii.

God that annoys the buggery out of me.

Why do people think the ability to output high end graphics will some how effect the the game play in a negative way? There is no liner rule that states that a games game play must suffer if it's graphics are fantastic.

Wii is not a factor in the console war, it never was. The PS2 still out sells it, has more games, and similar graphics. Hook up an eye toy and you have a ghetto Wii.

lol Forza is a Microsoft game. You've got as much chance of Gran Turismo appearing on the DS. I'm going to cry my eyes out when I buy that game.

It doesn't have a negative effect. No-one ever said that. The fact is, that games require money. The more money spent into flashy effects, and sharper models, millions of high-res textures, etc on PS3 and Xbox 360, Is spent into ways to utilize the Wiimote on the Wii. (THIS DOES NOT GO FOR PORTS.)

Also, what makes you think its "not a factor." The PS2 doesn't still outsell it, and an Eye Toy equals a "ghetto Wii" in the same shape that a green orange equals a pear.

Give Sony a small chance. I have realised that Xbox 360 will kick PS3's arse in sales and has the best year for 2007, but what am I to do in 2008?! *cue traumatic music* are you saying I have to.....revise?! THE PAIN!! Seriously though I will probably buy one in 2008 along with my new HDTV and PC .

Before you ask I am not a spoiled brat I have to pay for the PS3 and PC and the TV is for Birthday.

Well, Heavenly Sword has had a very professional script written, and lovingly ad heard to. It also looks fantastic, and is the kind of game I'd buy without renting.

The Wii has it's own little corner. Wii fans call it 'innovation', I call it a complete lack of compelling elements. It has no graphics worth while, no compelling games that can't be bested else where, and a controller system that can be found in even a second rate Arcade.

That, and in most cases it's "I have a Wii and ...". Although I'd rather buy a PS2 - more and better games. Oh wait... I did.

But it could be a lie like Killzone 2's "in-game trailer".

Most games have a "professional script" written, especially RPG's. As far as I know, the game isn't even released yet, so how the hell can you talk about how good a games script is, when you don't HAVE a script to look at.

Jesus. For a start, graphics isn't the ONLY compelling element to a game. You go on as though the Wii's capabilities end at 2D. Look at upcoming games, I.E Metroid Prime 3. The graphics on that are extremely sharp and well done.

Please name these "compelling elements" as I'd really like to hear all two of them.

Your playstation 3's SIXAXIS can also be found, In a second rate arcade. so can your systems graphics. What is my point? I'm not making a point, I'm saying just because something is avaliable elsewhere, is a moot point. Not everyone wants to go out to an arcade to enjoy something they can do from home, without putting £1 in the machine every time you die.

Ah yes, because the playstation 2 has been around since.. was it 2000? And the Wii has been out for.. Oh. 4 months. Well thats certainly enough time to start and finish a game, right!?

Your arguements, while to some degree true, have no substance whatsoever.

Well that is very true except for the graphics being found in an arcade. I will bet you will not find a single close comparison to PS3 or Xbox 360.
