I'm pretty sure, you've also never seen such an epic ping to the first external address. ( 217.0.82.98 )

What confuses me is I just did a tracert test and this is what I got (with dxalpha.co.uk).

You're telling me! It doesn't always lag that much, or feel like it at least, but it does enough to piss me off lol. It usually lags when I have just replied to a topic.

=[

Ok, this is getting ridiculous.

Not only is it taking 20-25 minutes to load the index page of the forum
But the loading is even making my sound output cut into small bits with pauses between

It's becoming unnavigable for me. I don't mind it really, but some faster speeds would be okay. :)

Derek, do all other sites work well for you?

Most likely the problem is on your side.

This forum works perfect for me.

The forum is working a little faster now, but when I got up about an hour and a half ago and started using it, it was god-awful slow.

All other sites work fine.

That's fucken random. Considering I don't think the US is as far from the sites server as NZ is and it loads in seconds for me. Problem with your ISP perhaps?

Comcast did introduce this new monthly bandwidth policy.

I'll give 'em a ring.

So I just got logged out for no reason returning to the forum, even though I had "remember me" on

When I signed back in I could not see any new posts, but that was the least of my problems

I'll show you an average day of browsing the forum now:

First we arrive at the forum with the new posts, which takes 5-10 minutes to load (notice how there's no scrolling option, it hasn't loaded yet.)

Image

Then I want to view the topic, which goes to a blank page for 10 or so minutes..

Image

Finally, the pages loads in 10-20 minutes. WAIT WHAT? IT DIDN'T LOAD ALL THE WAY? Only 1/5s of the way does the page load, also notice I have no scrolling option...

Image

Today was unusually fast, but other days it might take me sometimes 30 minutes to make a post.

So yeah, how was your day.

Have you contacted your ISP? Done virus scans and shit? Deleted history, cache and all the jazz? And finally (just as a test) tried IE for just this forum?

PostPosted: Mon Sep 15, 08 12:17 am

Did all four, tried it on Chrome as well.

Comcast says that my internet is working fine for local US connections, they did mention that "its a bit slower outside of the US" but a lot of Canadian websites I visit and Irish sites work perfectly fine.

Bah, only other thing I can think of is to reformat your whole system but highly recommend you DO NOT do that. Even with secure backups of everything it is still a pain in the ass to do (and you can't really save the registry because if the problem lies there then you'd be back at square one again).

That and reformatting doesn't work sometimes. Tried doing a system restore back to when it was a working date? What I do suggest is going to http://www.techmonkeys.co.uk (or some other tech support forum) and asking around there. TechMonkeys is good, the admin there has helped me on numerous occasions (only problem I couldn't fix was that the explorer.exe process on this old shitty computer I was using fucked up and you could no longer open files and I had to do everything via the task manager, had to be reformatted).

Cata, are you sure no-body is stealing your DSL through wireless? do you have a password in the WLAN?

Okay, does the "WLAN" in the DSL shows a green, red, orange light? tell me which one it does.. k?

O_o

Cause i had a low and same thing like you, and guess what, my neighbors were stealing it.
