The reason it has taken such a huge decline in recent months is the release of new games like HL2 and Snowblind.

But most of all, veterans and long term players who would have continued to play DXMP even in the event of the release of a new game (ie- CS:s) were warded off by the noob movement.
By that I mean, and no offence intended, clans like DXM, kcw, and all these other clans, started by self righteous but in experienced players. These clans usually have a shelf life of about 1 month, then die off... but another 1 springs up, to many of our dismays.

In the past, clans like these (TA and KINGZ etc) survived because the community was much more tolerant. Look at Lordz, for example... they went from Lordz, to DF, and bred some excellent players like Bobodaknifa, Spike, Marije, Ferdvds (i think) etc etc. Lately, however, the number of morons ruining the multiplayer game have just cause people to say "Forget it!" and leave the game, to other, more advanced online experiences.

Therefore, it is a shame, but it is inevitable... that is, due to the way alot of poeple are behaving. They wont stop, though. They seriously do think they are gods.
