I changed my name on the forums aswell now, since some people think [A]lex and [A]Mr.X aren't the same person. I did NOT abandon the name Mr. X, since I still use it sometimes in Deus Ex, it depends what mood I am in.

People want to change their name depending on their mood, intellect or something they find out. It's a freedom to do so.

changed names a lot but always kept one the whole time since everyone knows me under that name

yeah but it actualy helps, if im in a bad mood i give myself a alias but because im angry i dont play well so im aliased anyway.

Changing a name in-game because you don't want to hurt your rep is called an alias.

Changing a name on a forum is like going to court to change your birthname.
