Admins/Mods please keep a log here with what you do with any spambot posts.

Deleted 2 accounts with names 'Victor77auto' and 'LostDrupo' that had made topics and polls this morning and moved the posts to cybertrash.

Deleted 2 potential spambot accounts with names 'Moscow7' and 'Moscow8'

Checkout the memberlist in descending order, theres more of them! Any better ideas than just deleting the usernames and moving the posts?

I will do cleaning by SQL commands on the next week.

shush, young one, I meant with the script, dae posts russian sites, Bob does, and tehy both talk. Sites selling phtoshop and stuff sell stuff, so how do you determine it in a script?

Thanks, but theres a lot, the cleaning script that Dae will make will delete the registered ones. The cleaning script that Alex is going to try to make to ban wasted will delete the user and move the post. Or something even more witty because Alex knows what hes doing. Maybe Alex and Dae could combine forces, the ultimate script writers that specialise in spambot removal

I will make it do the following:
1. Move the post.
2. Log the IP.
3. Ban the IP.
4. Delete the user.
Shouldn't be too hard, they have as website URL a .ru website (most of them) and have as interests etc. something in russian. If we also forbid people to speak russian (on these forums), then we can auto ban people who DO type russian.

No, don't forbid people from typing in Russian, that would be unfair.

Have you ever tried implementing verification numbers during signups? this might help with the spambot raids.

It aren't really bots. They register manually.
