Forum dodgyness.

It's acting weird, I don't think it's anything to do with the host but now it seems to have no memory. Example. It doesn't remember to automatically log me in and once I read a topic, it doesn't mark it as read. :x Irritating...

Try clearing the cookies for this site then logging back in. That usually helps me when that happens.

Yes, clearing cookies is the solution. If you're on FireFox, hit "show cookies" and type "dxalpha" — it will show you only those which belong to dxalpha.com. Select them and hit "delete".

And if you got IE ? Because I am having the same problem as cozmo is

If you remember your passwords, you may just clear all the cookies in IE by pressing a single button (see security tab in options). Or either, go to C:\Documents and Settings\your-Windows-name\Cookies\ (in my case, C:\Documents and Settings\Daedalus\Cookies) and find there a file that contains "dxalpha".
Note: if you have too many files in that folder, just press "Ctrl + F" on your keyboard, then "Files and Folders", then type "dxalpha" and delete all the files which came up.

I'm sorry that this has happened — I had to configure the forum in order to work with the upcoming site.

I just right clicked on internet, then... Internet properties > Delete all cookies.

Still happens. :?

To sort it out, go into DX, enter a server and get a good score then delete say and type 'debug gpf'.

First log out, then delete cookies, then restart, IE, then log in again. Must work!

Btw... don't wanna sound rude, but IE sucks.

That's what I did do. :? No programs running when I deleted cookies.

And oh well if IE sucks, I can't be bothered to get somthing better, it does what I want. :)

Firefox was created for people who got used to IEs interface. It's secure, simple and very fast.

I've started using Firefox and it works normally now. :) I don't like it as much, oddly, but it's fine. :)

Norton antivirus once reported that my firefox was infected with a virus -.- , so after that I deleted it and used IE again.

Norton Anti virus is bad. :( Get AVG or something instead. :)

Judging by comments from different forums, Norton is one of the worst antiviruses. Use Kaspersky (www.kaspersky.com, it's no problem to find a crack for it) or ZoneAlarm.

Well, fact is, the SERVER is the problem, NOT the client.

The problem described in the first post is connected with cookies. Clear your cookies and everything will be fine.

The topic title is "Forum dodgyness".
That includes the unability of the server to answer a request properly, I think.
I really doubt, that the problem is located at my end, if the server doesn't response for no reason.

Its not cookies lol. More like forum cache maybe?

When the forum doesn't respond, it's of course, server's fault and when Alex returns we'll move to another server which should be more stable and faster.

When the topics can't be marked as new, that are your cookies. Everything works fine on all the computers I use.

They are coming up as new, but the thing is it doesn't auto-log me in anymore (although it still remembers my login details), and if I look at a thread or post in a thread it still remains "un-read".

Mozilla Firefox isn't a virus nor does it have any other sort of malware in it. Norton Anti-Virus is just a hunk of shit which is a virus itself.

Have you cleaned your cookies?

Yeah, I'm going to try clearing my Internet Cookies for the same reason - doesn't auto-log me in.

Yeah, it's about time too. I think it's unfair to ban someone for overusage... I thought that was illegal as well...

What are they going to do? TELL you to stop coming here? Bah.

They claim Derek was DoS'ing them.

I don't even know what DoS'ing is, let alone how to do it.
