Like I said, Lordi are GWAR-wannabes.

Lordi > GWAR

I looked up GWAR and they are so fuckin lame its not even funny, their costume's are pathetic and they sound terrible,i totally prever Lordi, and i seriously doubt Lordi's a bunch of wannanbe's,they kick ass with their music and they actually have good costumes, not a bunch of colourfull dorks with silly looking rubber spikes and shit.

Lol.

Let's use what you said, but let's make it about Lordi to see how fucked up your mind is.

GWAR > Lordi

GWAR are the original Lordi, and as far as I know, Lordi listed GWAR as one of their influences.

OMGWTFPWNED.

Seriously, do you derive opinions and actually claim them as facts from looking up a band, listening to a snippet & basing a first impression?

Let me settle this, Lordi and GWAR both suck. I know GWAR are considered classic metal, but to me they just seemed like a gimmick and as such I could never take their music seriously. Lordi has the same problem, which pisses me off, because currently there are so many better metal bands, but Lordi is getting all of the attention. I mean they even had an article on them in Rolling Stone. When was the last time you saw Rolling Stone do an article on a metal band (I'm not counting the System of a Down article they had a few months back, because let's face it, System of a Down is not true metal)? If any metal bands deserve articles right now it should probably be Edguy, Sonata Arctica, or Nightwish, but no they get passed over because to the majority of Americans they aren't worth listening to because they aren't nu-metal, rap, or one of those other crap genres Americans seem to be enfatuated with currently. Sorry, just felt like I needed to vent about the current state of poor choice of music in America.

Most of Europe is metally though, and good metal at that, along with Japan and South America. Let's take a band like Edguy. In various countries around Europe their last album debuted around 7th in the charts, and they play to sold out stadiums. Then when they come here they play to maybe 500 people in a small club.

It's probably because barely any metal music gets broadcast/put on TV/advertised on TV. I bet if metal had a bigger presence in the UK, then people would flock to it in their thousands.

Exactly, but after the 80's nobody is willing to take Metal seriously anymore. Goddamn you Whitesnake, Poison, Quiet Riot, Warrant, Faster Pussycat, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, RATT, and to anybody I'm forgetting, screw you.

People love gimmiks.

Seriously though, Lordi have some good songs.

Snows in hell.
Blood red sandman.
Children of the night.
To name three.

What band did Paul Gilbert play for before Racer X? Was it Quiet Riot? I know Steve Vai played for Whitesnake, but am drawing a blank on Paul Gulbert's band.

Wrong again.

Lyrics read "Cum on feel the noize", but it is actually Come on Feel the Noise, it showed up as that in my CD, it showed up as that in Vice City, it showed up as that in almost every music store available.

I know my quiet riot ;)

On August 27, 1983, Quiet Riot's second single "Cum on Feel the Noize" / Run For Cover was released. Cum On Feel The Noize, a cover of the 1973 Slade hit, spent two weeks at #5 on the Billboard chart in November 1983. It was the first Heavy Metal song to make the Top 5 on Billboard's "Hot 100 singles chart" and it was the first of a string of Slade sound-alikes recorded by the group. The success of the single helped carry "Metal Health" to the top of Billboard Music Charts pop album charts, making it the first heavy metal album to ever reach #1.

I remember seeing it with a s though. :-k
