Film advice

Postby Dae » Sat Jun 14, 08 3:06 pm

I want to watch some film tonight. Please advise me something :)

I'd like to see some worthy high-budget action/thriller like "Heat" or "Fight club" or possible something like Oceans 12/12/13. I'm not familiar with the film titles, and for instance, I discovered "Fight club" only a month ago or so.

Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid I don't know a good action or thriller movie, I do know a good movie in general.

'The Bucket List'. I quite liked it, so did my father. Look for the description of the movie, maybe you like it too.

There are plenty you could watch, and Diehard has the action you would want.

Oceans 13 is awful
The ENTIRE film is zzZzzZzzzz.

Anyhow, Die Hard 4 is exactly what you are lookin' fer mate.

You could also try Transformers. Chock full of action, and funny at times too.

I agree, the first one was the best.

It's indeed pretty plain and simple storyline, but it's great in terms of atmosphere and effects. It was unforgettable experience to watch it on Bluray on a big HDTV with 5.1 audiosystem.

also watched it, a good film, underrated on the sites I think

Even though you said we were soldiers, which is an amazing film, as a result of the above opinion, your say on any matter on the forums are null and void, I will provide you with a constant reminder of this fact.

That film crushed so very many childhood dreams. It's the Rocky V of the Indiana Jones films.

I agree the old ones were better. When I watched it when I was younger, I would make my own wip (LOL!) and attack sheep (Srsly)

Hold on a second, the storyline was shit but it wasn't a terrible movie. It was never going to compare to the franchise, but as a stand alone film, it was decent. Not soul destroying or childhood ruining like you put it out to be. Relax, have some lemonade.

Aliens? I mean come on! They just made him out to be an oaf at the start of the film which annoyed me too.

Also Kate Winslet's accent :|

Yeah, the story was shite. The aliens were completely pointless, I'd say if they just had anything different the reviews would have been better. I'd say Lucas had some say on the storyline.

Kate Winslet? You mean Cate Blanchett.

The spaceship ruined it for me :( Not the aliens. Since I was younger, I have always wanted for a modern Indiana Jones to be made. The earlyer ones were from the 80s and it was in my opinion time for a new modernised one. I would rate this one 4 and a half out of 5. It could of been 5 no thanks to the UFO (spaceship).

Crank (4)
Se7en (2)
Sixth Sense (2)
Italian Job (original or remake) (5)
Scarface (5)
The Godfather 1-3 (4 AND A HALF)
Goodfellas (3)
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (5)
Big Fish (NEVER WATCHED IT)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (5)
The Departed (3)
Snatch (5)
Reservoir Dogs (4 AND A HALF)
Pulp Fiction (2)
Who Framed Rodger Rabbit? (5)
Beauty and The Beast (Gaston is worth it) (1)
Behind Enemy Lines (5)
Black Hawk Down (5)
Transformers (5)

But really for the kind of descripted movie you were asking for Die Hard 4 was ideal.
