What the FUCK

So I just downloaded 'Will Rap For Food' by Cunninlynguists after having to search up their lyrics I heard in a youtube video.
What the fuck have I been listening to for the past 16 years, I mean I've heard good rap before but not nearly as much all concentrated into one pile. How does absolute SHIT like Tinchy Fucking Stryder and Chipmunk and all those American sacks of shit get into the spotlight and rap like this stays underground.
I thought I got a little closer to what Hip Hop was supposed to be after I heard Mac Dre and early Mos Def. And more recently Asher Roth (His voice is a little weird and he can't freestyle for shit but his lyrics are mostly good imo).
Then I hear this and now, and only now do I realise what I've truly been missing.
RECCOMENDATIONS PEOPLE, I NEED MORE REAL RAP. (Going to start by intensive googling everyone on the album.)
Also for those that haven't heard what I've heard

I didn't even know what the FUCK the Slash and Burn technique was until I googled it. First time I learned something from rap, ever.

I've never heard of the artists you listed as being showcased in the American media.
There are some gems out there; they just aren't as commercial as artists like Jay Z.
I'd suggest listening to some:
AZ
Brother Ali
Immortal Technique
The Roots
Slaughterhouse

The ones I mentioned by name are only big in the UK. American sacks of shit were more directed at artists like Soulja boy.
Thanks for the reccomendations.

I quote like Tinchy Stryder, and Chipmunk is pretty good aswell, I mean they're both sellouts don't get me wrong but they don't get on my nerves. I just hate 50 Cent and maybe a couple of others like Kanye West...
Choong Family is the best IMO.
Also, Tech N9ne <3

I only really listen to old school rap/hip hop (early NWA, Eazy-E, Lench Mob, etc) - Hate all the new school stuff that's been mentioned in the thread, but rap isn't the main genre of my music taste either.

I wasn't aware that there was any good rap after the 90's other than Infamous 2-0, Immortal Technique, Jean Grey, Diabolic, and the Wu Tang clan.
And lol at any euro tard who badmouths American rap. Hip hop started here, it was killed by the music industry which is not centralized in any one country.
If you want good rap, listen to the old shit. Run DMC, Wu Tang, Public Enemy, D.O.C., Grandmaster Flash, West Side Connection, N.W.A, Deathrow, etc etc.
I mostly listen to Wu Tang and Immortal Technique than anything else. I'm currently favoring East Coast rap.

What Immortal technique songs?
That one where he shoots his own mum is twisted.
Dance with the devil or something?
I was listening to like Point of no return, and Tell the truth, and i stumbled upon it.
Creepy shit right there.
While the old skool shit you mentioned is all good and hurray and now you can say you're a real rap man, Jay-z is still hawt.
As was biggie.
And Late Registration by Kanye West remains an awesome album.

I don't think you know the style that IT uses.
He is mostly political and is critical of both the government and the corporations that run within its jurisdiction.
As for the lyrical content, its no more gruesome than what Em talks about. The story that he managed to weave was amazing and shocking the first time I heard it.
If you're mature enough, listen to his piece "You Never Know".

What do you mean I don't know the style? I realize its mostly political; where did I give the impression that I didn't?
He's on the corruption/conspiracy scene.
And its much more gruesome that what Eminem talks about.
Well Dance with the Devil is at least.
I can't pick a song of Em's that is that twisted.

You came off as having a negative view of IT in the wording of your response, but if it isn't like that then you can disregard my post.

Tech's disadvantage is he comes off way too left wing. Most of what he says is biased and untrue exaggeration.
He is a brilliant lyricist, better than rappers who get a lot more cred than he does just because they're dead (ODB, Tupac, Eazy E, BIGGIE, etc).
Eminem's early works, such as the SlimShady LP and the Marshall Mathers LP, are absolutely brutal. I love it. Too bad he went soft in the end.
And I was disappointed with Technique's Revolutionary Volume 2. The beats were somewhat irritating. I liked the guitar and piano shit way more. Pretty much anything after he got bigger than underground wasn't as good as his underground shit.
And @ clyzm, I finally picked up GZA's Pro Tools. It's delicious, that's all I have to say. I was expecting Alphabets to be the best track on the record and I was way off wrong.
